How is that possible?
What was the locking mechanism on the nut. I know it has been re-hashed, but I'm doin mine tomorrow for the ride this weekend.
Is it reversed thread, or a lock over the nut?
Needs a life

You would be best served taking it to someone to do it.

it is NOT reverse thread..its a bitch to get off but if your carefull you can do it. Find the right size socket and either a good impact or a good heafty breaker bar.

Several people have had no problems getting their nut off (sorry ), but a few have had a beast of nut and it took locomotive equipment to get off (sorry again ).
It seems like your best bet is to get a good air supply (not the band), 150psi+, a good impact wrench, 500lbs+, and a good socket. Try it a few times, but don't just sit there and beat the hell out of it forever. If you don't have any luck after a minute or so, put your sprocket cover back on and take it somewhere for some serious "persuasion".

The slave comes off with the cover, I just compressed it before reinstalling the cover.
Yes, my nut did have some loctite, I do not fully understand why, as there is a lock washer on there as well. Just unfold the washer, and upon reinstall fold a different section over onto a flat on the nut.
In any event some slight heating of the nut without heating the shaft and seal may be appropriate

I just had to make sure that the washer was pushed all the way back. I pushed back the tab, and then I could not get it off. I then had to push ALL the way around the washer to make sure nothing was stoping the nut. I then used a torque wrench it came right off.

FYI - you shouldn't ever use a torque wrench to break a nut/bolt loose. Pick up a decent breaker bar for that job. ____________
