Dropping the cats would be the biggest improvement in flow and weight loss....
That said....
Brock Davidson smeg, for street HP!
It produces 2-5 hp more across the rpm range than his Gen3, or likely any other conventional muffler.
His header pipes are stepped, big tubes, unlike many of the others which are basically a copy of the stock header, but lighter.
IMO anyway.....
His customer service is #1, and many of his other customers here will vouch for that.
BTW he sells the pc3 with his own maps down loaded, remove the secondary throttle plates... huge improvement in power below 6000 rpm, and a great mod that compliments the power increase along with top end power from the exhaust.
These 2 mods will blow your mind...
Totally different animal then!
In fact .... I beleive this is the way Kawi had intended for the bike to be ran, but their hands are tied with the emissins laws, and their legal dept. likely was concerned about selling a bike that would produce 90 ft lb at 4000 rpm, that could spit people on their ears if ham fisted, while leaned over in 1, 2nd, or 3rd gear!

Dubious,
How do you remove the cats from the stock exhaust. Do you have to grind the welds on the cans and then look inside? I can't weld stainless so I was hoping I could get into the cans without breaking the welds on the back of the cans. But I want less restricktion and less heat from the cats.
I will be able to afford Brocks smeg soon but right now money is tight.

By dropping the cats i meant either a slip on system , or better yet a complete 4-1 system.
I would think the mufflers would be very difficult to modify, without them looking butchered.

Have to say that my Muzzy stainless system is first class. Fit, finish, installation was perfect, performance gain was great and getting the map for the pc was as easy as a phone call to muzzy, even though I didn't purchase it from them. Couldn't be happier. Just my 2c

Regardless of the bike (I am sure the factory 14 exhaust is a pig just like the 12 was if not worse due to the duals. I've heard anywhere from 29 lbs to 52 lbs for the full factory 14 system. No idea what is correct) the best thing you can do is dump the factory exhaust.
Remember, horsepower increase is NOT the only reason for an aftermarket exhaust, weight loss is free horsepower and handling gets better too.
I won't get into brand preference (Akrapovic or Arata), or the cost vs. intangible's (you get what you pay for) but I will say anytime you can shave your exhaust system weight in half or better you WILL notice the difference.
Just my .02

+1 on the Muzzy system. Stainless with carbon system is top notch. Fit/finish was amazing. Customer service was fantastic. With that said, the differences between quality aftermarket exhaust systems are very small. Get the pipe you like (look, sound, etc...). They are all very close in performance.

+1. Ear plugs highly recommended for you and your riding buddies, though.

Just fitted a TiForce system. I haven't set it up on the dyno' yet ( booked in next week ) but first impressions are very good. There's an obvious power gain just running on a standard ZX-14 PC map, the bike also runs cooler and has stopped cooking my legs, plus a weight saving of around 40 pounds.
I'm sure all the better quality after-market systems will offer similar advantages so it's down to personal preference and where you can get a good deal.

Single, dual, full system or slip-ons? How does it sound? I'm lookin for something that has that low pitch growl that doesn't sound too raspy until at least the higher rpm. I don't care too much about noise as my 502 Boss has open pipes and if I can tolerate that . . .
