PC Installation

Just installed a Power Commander. I put it below the left-hand top fairing cover alongside the air intake tube, where Dynojet say to put it in their instuction leaflet.
Personally I am not very happy with this position. Has anyone managed to feed the cables through and install it under the seat? I threaded the Speedo Healer cable through and that was pretty tight as there was hardly any room. Does the PC cable go through?

I saw at least one pic where someone put it below the seat, so it's possible. I put mine in the recommended location as well, since the Scorpio is taking up a fair amount of room under the seat.

Yes, I remember a pic on this forum and also Brock installed one under the seat, as shown in part one of his ZX14 Diary. I wondered if they managed to plug it into the ECU somehow, rather than the connector behind the engine.

Here you go, quite easy. You have to remove the tank though. Here is where you thread the cable through.

Great, thanks for that Vegasdude. I'll have a go when I've got a couple of hours spare.

That gray cable you see by the nut driver is the power commander cable already threaded through!

You have to use a mechanics pic to push the pin down and you pull on the wire not the actuall connector should take about 10 seconds to get the connector apart... Also if you install under the windshield I recommend zip tying the PC to the bracket so it doesnt rattle around

Yah, I did have the factory manual, so removing the panels was a snap.

If you take out the tool box it fits in it's place well and there is room for a Scorpio alarm to boot! I couldn't see any reason to keep the tool box anyway 'there are few items you could actually work on on the road with the tools provided.. I found a large spanner wrench with an expandable handle.. which did not fit anything?, It is too small diameter to fit the rear axle nut.. What is this for? ( Mark on the coast of Texas)

Put mine under the windscreen also, I have one of the early Muzzy modded PCs. Ran the ground wire to the left side ram air attach bolt. Eveything fit like it was designed to mount this way, and very easy to get to....TB

jYea But it is much easier to get to under the seat. You only need a key to get the seat off.. You have to remove screws and a plastic panel the other way...
