ZX 14 with one more wheel! ; ;
Hello to everybody,
enclosed you find (hopefully, if yes special thanks to flyboy ) some pictures of my ZX 14 (in Germany called ZZR 1400) sidecar.
Some details: Stern hub steering with 195-50-15 AVON ZZR Race tyres on front and side car, rear is a 205-50-15. Gearing is 16 - 42 with esjot sprockets. Sidecar is a Stern two seater (love my wife and son), suspension is Wilbers all around. Exhaust comes from BSM in netherland. I am waiting for my power commander (too rich). Also I am waiting for the rear seat cover - not available in Germany.
Brakes are one Porsche 4 piston caliper in front, plus one ap Racing 4 piston caliper. Sidecar has two 2-piston Calipers and rear is standard. Foot brake operates three calipers on three wheels. Front brake goes to the Porsche in front and one sidecar cailper.
I love the Kawasaki. For a sidecar, the clutch is a dream. Also the engine runs beautiful smooth. But I have to improve the bottom.
Runing in (specially at the end!) on German Autobahn was good fun - with only two wheels!
Oh ja, as I am a little bit older - I have the footrest a little bit down and I am waiting für my LSL Superbike Handle bar (will be ready in two weeks).
I will not travel to the US - but maybe you will have a look at the bike at INTERMOT bike show in october.

I like the left side pipe. What is the site for the pipe. It would be kinda unique to have a left side pipe.
Rest of bike looks cool too!
Biggest tire I've ever seen in front of a 14.
I guess you don't need to lean unless you have a monkey in the sidecar!

Wow! Way cool! Now you need to pull the subthrottles and wake up the bottom end. :0
Now you just need some clear lenses for the brake and turn indicators on the sidecar. ____________

...this is just a little faster than your Gear-Up, huh swft? ....probably doesn't have reverse...probably turn the handlebar to full lock and twist the throttle wfo to get it to turn 180 degrees, huh? ____________ “We sleep safe in our beds because rough men

Thats fricken cool!!! I mistes some silver spray paint on my turn signal lights. They work like a charm and are much stealthier.

thought thats obvious when the side car is on the right...

another positive perspective from zx12mark.... as usual.
He never provides positive input.... just ignore him.
Even if I thought that.... I wouldn't diss someone for being an individual.
My preferance is 2 or 4 wheels....
It appears to be a very well thought out project and a professional install.
Having relatives in Germany....
I know they do not allow just anything on the road over there and the laws regarding modified vehicles are very stringent...
even Speed rated tires must be the same as indicated by the vehicle manufacturer when replacing rubber!
I'm sure it has been engineered properly.

One of the niciest part of riding a sidecar is that people think that they don't accelerat or go very fast... I've surprised/embrassed many car drivers with one. And when it's done properly - new frontend and wheels/tires they are very nice to ride. You can outbrake anything on the street and because the final drive is normally much shorter they also acceleraty very fast too! You should really try one proper sport sidecar if You have the chance. But remember they're completely different to ride thatn 2 or 4 wheels!
