I still vote for the powercomaander quickshifter, and if you want to leave your feet drag you can get a handle bar mounted button

the handlebar mounted button doesnt shift the bike with the quickshifter...it just moves the engine kill to the bars...you still have to footshift it...you just dont have to use the clutch..so you cant keep both feet draggin.

Um, the recall only affected one person that I know of, Me. I'm not sure if anybody else got the kit yet. I hadn't installed it on the bike yet and they called an explained the situation. It's no big deal, just one wire needs to be moved on this little pig tail deal, so they are sending me a new one. These things happen. I still think the airshifter is well worth the money. Its a very well thought out kit, with 4 pages of instructions and pictures for dummies like me.
I hate to lift my feet up to the pegs until at least after the 2nd gear shift. Helps me steer while the front wheel is off the ground. Stay tuned for when I finally get the kit installed.

Yes I still foot shift mine. I am a firm believer in RIDING my bike. Heck a monkey could push a button...of course he may get a quiker time than me too LOL. I have a Katana drag bike that used to be set up for NMRA outlaw (shootout) but it is now getting a new motor built to run NMRA 60" wheelbase (street shootout) and I have always footshifted it. Been pretty consistant with it ...pretty consistant with the ZX-14 too actually.

There are advantages to an air or electric shifter, but I just like foot shifting...I still shift in the street pattern, in 1000ss you must foot shift but they all have the GP shift pattern...

Guess to me the quickshifter is more or less still foot shifting you have to shift using the lever at redline still, just don't have to back off the throttle. some guys have autoshift where the don't do anything.

Ill be going with an autometer auto shift. Used one years ago on my other drag bike and it's great. You set the rpm that you want to activate the airshifter and it doesn the rest. With dryshot NOS it's like a safety thing. If you bang into the rev limiter with NOS, it could blow things up, not good. This way, no matter how fast the power comes in when you hit the NOS button, it will always activate the airshifter before it gets to red line. Just one less thing to worry about.
Note: Autoshifter are outlawed in most all classes for bikes. If you get teched, say it controls the NOS. The reason they are outlawed is if you have a runaway bike with say a stuck throttle, it will keep shifting all by itself, with or without you. I have a kill switch, so I think it's bs, personally.
Just my 2c
