I was just made aware of this thread last night. We're just finishing up the fork and swingarm sliders for the ZX-14, but were not going to do frame sliders yet. We haven't been doing frame sliders where there are a lot of other products on the market. It looks like this is one bike where there aren't a lot of options yet. I'm not making promises, but I'll get on a bike on Monday and see how it looks. I'll post my comments here about how doable they are and what our plans will be. In Muzzy's defense, there may be more to this application than some others, which may drive the cost up. I won't know until I look at it.
I have a question for you folks while I'm posting here. Are you prepared to cut the fairings if necessary? I don't thow if that's going to be the case, but it's good for me to know the customer preference. We take the position that we don't do offset frame sliders. While they do offer the benefit of easy installation, they are inherently weak and experience has shown tha they fail in a fall if they are not done properly.
The web site has been revised and will have a shopping cart when it goes live. The only thing keeping it from going up is loading the product into the cart. Look for that in the next couple of weeks. Once it's up, you'll see everything we have in production. We're heavily focused on European bikes right now, but are adding to product for the popular Japanese bikes now as well. Thanks.

You can order the same muzzy sliders from schnitz motorsports for $99. Not that I totally approve of all of the schnitz motorsports company practices but you can get them from there.

But schnitz charged me the full $1500 and didn't tell me shit until I called to get a tracking number a week later.

Good bolts with 6061-T6 might work just fine, sure the slider would get ground up
quite a bit in a slide and probably need replacement.
As you know, 7075-T6 is almost as tough as mild steel. Why not just use parkerized
mild steel? Softer 6061-T6 might just result in a more pleasant crash
High volume? Contract out overseas....

Ok so the aluminum spacer is 7075 aluminum. What is the rating on the little frame tab that it bolts to? It looks like its cast to me...so it would be weaker than the spacer? HMMM this just sounds like a bad deal to me. I would rather have a spacer that is soft enough to break or absorb some impact before it broke the tab/engine mount on my frame. Just my $.02.

Remember guys, in a crash, sliders are designed to save the frame not the plastics, even though if you bike falls over, the sliders may help...................

I posted the same type of question in another thread. OK we have a 180K bolt, that means when the bike falls over the engine tab rating comes into play? I know a guy with a CBR1000 that told me a horror story is the only reason I asked on our threads.
No matter what strength bolt, it just doesn't seem as though thats the strongest portion of the frame to design it for. Perhaps the easiest place to install.... its a mute point for me though with the "cost of production" so high and all hehe, that frame slider is so expensive to produce I ordered a full carbon system and PC from Brock...

that's actually consistent with the dampers I was looking at awhile back. I could buy from a distributor for less than the Muzzy site. I just figured it was a way to 'push' customers to the distributors. A lot of times the manufacturer is not set up to deal with a high volume of private buyers.

I bought many a knife from Benchmade, and now I found them for 80.00 less online. I called Benchmade and they responded by saying "if we compete with our retailers, they won't sell our product". I don't know how accurate that is, but that's there excuse Busa.

Business as usual. Muzzy doesn't try to undercut his dealers. In fact, I paid less for my Muzzy pipe through a distributor than I would have buying from Muzzy direct with a $100 off coupon.
