A lot of company BS is to advertise things you don't have and claim back order. Then use the funds to produce product. This takes the bite off the company expense to produce.
They were 89.00 here, and now 149.00 which is stupid money for sliders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I really have a sour taste in my mouth over the whole issue. Enough to look to wait for a more reasonable deal later (another maker?) Also, my brother and I have decided to reconsider the Muzzy exhaust purchase.
.
On another note I e-mailed Muzzy 3 weeks ago with a question and got the standard reply "...thank you for e-mailing us we'll get back to you within 24-48 hours......yada...yada......" Well guess what ? Going on three weeks now and still waiting for my answer to a fairly straightforward question.
.
Hate knocking a manufacturer but what the f&*& is Muzzy's problem?
.
Rob Muzzy,
Running outta stock is one thing. Using it to jack prices 50% when stock is replaced is another. How many people (myself) called when you were out and wanted to buy them and now are being screwed. This is why: PEOPLE SHOULD THINK LONG AND HARD PRIOR TO DOING BUSINESS WITH YOU.

Many of us here have had similar issues with Muzzy's.
Again I won't bash Rob Muzzy the ma as when i dealt with him 13 years ago Sidecar racing he was a Gentleman and was great to deal with.

i am one of the people screwed aroun by his Customer service People over Maps, so i ordered a Brock/Hindle and am so glad I did...

Below you will see a thread about "And the saga continues" which will show you the incredible level of service I received from Brock and hindle.

I've had nothing but good experiences with Muzzy and his products in the past regarding my ZX9.

Between the two horrible experiences I've had with my ZX14 orders and this profound answer on the sliders gouging topic, I'm so glad one of the horrible experiences resulted in my cancelling the order on the ZX14 Muzzy full system.

Good luck Muzzy in finding a solution to your high production costs of the sliders. I'm confident you may find a simple solution once competiton enters the market.

I prefer to take my business elsewhere going forward.

And after writing the above note I realized pondering is over regarding whether to wait on Muzzy to make more headers and midpipes or go elsewhere.

I just placed an order with Jim at Brock's.

Gen 3 in carbon fiber flavor is on the way, along with a PC3 preloaded with map for Brock's full system with flies in. Hope I enjoy this set-up as much as I did the Muzzy system on the ZX9.

He pays to advertise here, with hopes to generate more sales from here...supporter? I'm not sure I would call it that exactly...it's simply a business transaction the way I see it. Does he post here like Brock with solutions and topics of interest? I haven't seen anything like that from Rob.

He has had some issues around here...some worth noting too. Some of us are pissed due to these issues VD...

I won't be doing business there...I can tell you that.

Ya, was very nice working with Jim at Brock's. Had choice of Ti and carbon flavor Gen 3 Pipes, both where in stock ready to be shipped... certanly a very different experience. The whole thing took about 5 minutes on the phone. I elected to call rather than order online mainly because I wanted to ask the PCIII be preloaded. I found they all come by default to preloaded to match everything- Gen3 pipe/stock bike/flies in.

Boy you guys are a tough group. I don't blame you for not wanting to pay 150.00 for frame sliders. If nobody wants them then they will die a natural death. Surely you don't want us to sell them at a loss. Our employees are no different than you guy's when it comes to there jobs, they expect a pay check and benefits. After all it is how they support there family's. I assure you that no one at MUZZYS is trying to rip you off. Since it would appear by the above posts all of you are going some place else to do business, we are in fact supporting this sight. I might remind you that we were the original ones to financially support this sight. You might question the motives of the new comers, now that the sight has gained prominence and readership. We can make a cheaper frame slider but we won't. People buy cheap helmets also. By the way titanium just went up again( now three times the price of two years ago) so buy what ever brand of ti exhaust you want NOW!!! Everybody will have to raise prices soon. Oh yea every person that had frame sliders on order will be shipped at the old price, even knowing that we are losing money. I repeat every person that ordered prior to yesterday will recieve them at the old price.

Muzzys is in fact a "supporter" of this site. When no one else would recognize this site or pay any attention to it, Muzzys helped foot the bill. For several YEARS.

What Rob is saying is true.

Without Muzzys this site wouldn't exist.

A day late and a dollar short! Just my luck!!!Robmuzzy, I would like to know by comparing to other sliders the reason for the high prices? lighted ones are only 50.00. I'm not knocking your product, but isn't it like re-inventing toilet paper? How much more is it going to wipe your ass, just softer?

Thanks Russell!!!!!!!!!!!
Russell just gave me free braided brake and clutch lines for my bike to be fitted for them to produce!!!!
I'll give my bike up anytime for free shit!!!!!!!!! thanks Russell, they work great!!!!!!!!!

If I was in the market for frame sliders, I would not hesitate to buy from Muzzy. I want a quality product that is engineered properly. As far as the price difference, it just still seems minor when compared to what it is designed to save (IMHO). It's still one of the least expensive hard part accessories. Your reputation speaks for itself by honoring the old price on orders prior the yesterday.

And I second your titanium info. It's just unbelieveable how much it's gone up.

How much actual engineering goes into frame sliders. The bolt size is determined by the existing threaded hole. A 180,000 psi bolt is equivalent to grade 8 which is aircraft standard and can be purchased in bulk. The thru hole of the mounting stem is once again determined by the mounting hole and bolt. The outside diameter of the mounting stem and the length are mostly determined by clearance and reach to the body panels they are intended to protect. 7075 is a better grade and slightly more expensive than 6061-T6 but is readily available. Acetron, acetal, delrin, whatever you choose to call it is a teflon blend and quite inexpensive in rod form. All of the manufacturing is easily performed on CNC equipment and if built in quantity production costs can be controlled. Anodizing of aluminum parts is not anything special. So what's the big deal?

There are 2 things that come into play here. Free enterprise and you can price your product any way you choose. Freedom of choice for us and we decide if we want to do business with you or not.

I don't think anyone has the right to question Muzzy's integrity just because they don't agree with his price structure. He didn't get to be where he is today by screwing his customers. I believe if the communication and perception of service were better, no one would be complaining. Brocks systems are fairly expensive in my opinion, but no one has a problem with it because of the constant feel good factor derived from his business practices. While price is something to quibble over, it usually isn't the deciding factor in determining how I will spend my money. (yes a Brock system is in my future)

left mid fairing is approximately $190 + shipping.
left lower is around $98+shipping
clutch lever is roughly $50+shipping
Left mirror didn't have to be replaced, but its knicked.

Never dealt with Muzzy directly, but the products I have from them work well and have never needed replacing.

I will say that its pretty 'stand-up' of RobMuzzy to offer the $99 price to all those that had already committed @ $149.

For what its worth, I will be purchasing thru Jim@Brock's also....nothing to do with this thread, but everything to do with Brock's reputation for customer service(and product).

Fine, I apologize and take back what I said about that; I wasn't aware or around 6 years ago on this site...but the price bullshit..sorry that's a complete load of crap IMO...you don't jerk with pricing 3 times up and down and then hand us this load of garbage....I am a manufacturer with goods being produced in China and Canada. I also distribute product in Canada. At no time have we ever produced a product and not known the true hard cost of it. We produce and sell product in the millions...and we don't fuck up costings, then put it out at a price and change it three times up and down. I don't for a second believe this has anything to do with cost, more like supply and demand. That slider won't protect me better than an LP product and I say that after having a MUZZY slider on my 14. If that bike goes down, it's gonna get trashed, MUZZY slider or something else. He is saying that the bolt costs 50 bucks more? That's what I got in his other post...,must be made of gold or something to cost 50 bucks for a pair of bolts...

I just wanted to say Hi, I'm a "FOG, been lurking here for a few weeks to check out the zx-14. I'm gonna get one as soon as I off my 1600 Mean Streak and pony up for the busa beater.
I wanted to recommend RhinoMoto for sliders. I've used them on my Aprilia and know lots of folks that use them and Steffen is a great guy and makes a good product. I'm not affiliated with RhinoMoto in any way, and have no finanical interest in the company. Steffen will work with you, he did with me, on whatever special product, in the way of sliders that you want.
http://www.rhinomoto.com/index.html is the link, but I'm not familar with this forum program so I don't know how to make it a clickable link for you.
The thread caught my attention as I will want to do sliders, just in case I get squiddy, or worse with the 14. The trouble you've had with Muzzy's shouldn't happen. I've always thought that Rob Muzzy had a good rep, but it sound like something has turned there.
Peace

I'm new, have a new bike and my motives are to get parts. If one reads my threads, I've called/e-mailed Yoshi and many others trying to see my options. I was frustrated after Muzzy said stainless are in stock then I place order and am called back and told 3 weeks for any pipe, whether stainless, Ti, etc. I cancelled that order and thought I'd shop around and probably end up ordering the Muzzy anyway. Past experience- I enjoyed the ZX9 Muzzy exhaust thoroughly.

Then I read this profound thread and placed an order from Brocks today. I'm not a Brocks fan nor do I have a Brock's motive, never did business with them ever in my life. Hopefully I'll be a fan after I use the product. For a full system its the only one available ready to ship that I could find, other than Yoshi today telling me their full system is dual can.

I'm not bashing anyone, as I said earlier I just prefer to do business elsewhere going forward.

My last bike was a ZX9R and I went with Muzzy, and had every intent to do the same this time, but I was one of the ones who was privledged enough to enjoy a conversation with Curt Dorn at Muzzy's.
I ordered the brock and couldn't be happier.
from what I've read the Brock produces more HP (could be wrong, so don't all you muzzy guys jump on me)
read the saga continues thread and you will see what Customer service means to Brock/Hindle.
Good luck with the Pipe.... All new bike now.

Most likely he hasn't got the 14's production going. Did you email him to find out? I'm going to need those slliders anyway, I'll shoot an email to him on that site and see what he says.
