Going back to stock wheel base....

As most of you already know I added 5 inchs to my swing arm on my zx14...I was able to go about a tenth and a half faster with the extra arm......... 6.13 was my best stock w/b and 5.94 with 5 inchs over...... Well i hate the bike being longer, it just seems more fun to run stock w/b.....At 5 inches over nobody wants to run me( Chicken shits)... I could get races from anybody with the stock wheel base and i like the fact that it takes more skills to go fast stock wheel base.....I really think with more seat time i can goes allmost as fast or as fast stock... Look at brocks bike with Shine riding( Low Low 9s ) I know I'm not Dennis Shine but given more seat time i think i can come close or match his times.... I plan to run the 16 tooth front sprocket and shinko tire and move the rear axle as far back as possible with the stock arm.... What you guys think? ..Smokin....

you will like the 16 tooth, but might want to try it before removing the arm.
with good traction and 16 tooth, it will want to wheelie quite a bit more!

I noticed almost as much improvement in accelleration with the 16, as with a pipe and flies out. !

Smokin good call..I think you will go just as fast or close to it when you get real used to the bike..I have had a set of six inch extensions for my Busa for two years..Best I have run is 6:04 with stk.arm..Wanted to get in the five with it but never did..Got me a new 06 le Busa now..6:12 fastest I have been on it..Still have my 6 inch extensions but I am still going to keep on trying to get in the fives with a stk. arm..Takes alot more skill to ride wih a stock arm..Good choice think you will be more proud to run in the fives with a stk.arm..I know I would be..Good luck you will do it..

You have the size and skill......go for it. There's no reason why you cant go as fast or faster. Remember that was shitty conditions he was running in too. You can catch some good air and run the same #'s. The only thing you have against you is Brock can tune his bike round for round for whatever conditions are. good luck smokin

You might want to consider a Pirelli Super Corsa over that Shinko...Afew guys with 14's that had Shinko's were not hooking up at MIR this past weekend...Pirelli seems like a better tire

That's just how i feel also ...If you can go 5.90s with a stock arm you are the MAN !!! I think with more seat time and maybe some fall air temps it should go 5.90s..... Nice job on your 06 le busa, you are flying! Smokin...

I ran 6.13 with the stock tire stock wheel base , i would think the shinko Usoft would be better than the stock tire? anyway it's on the bike know and i'll give it a shot and see what happen...Maybe the next tire i will go with a pirelli ....My tires don't last long anyway ....lol

I guess alot of guys are hung up on running the guy next to them instead of running yourself to better yourself

Lee, if you want to take the extentions off ok, but dont do it because the other guys wont run you...Just keep going faster and faster!!!...Or then go faster with OEM arm and make yourself a better rider!!!...By the way the first sentence was for the other guys that wont run you!!!

As for the Shinko well you get what you pay for!!!

Next season when I get my 14, i'll let you and everyone else know what rear tire I'm buying...

The Pirelli Super Corsa sc0, that is the best tire there is for mild built motor bikes!!!

Just telling it like it is!!!

Not Roaring toys ... This are built by Spencer cycle and are very nice looking , they have no Logo on them so they blend in on the bike very well... It's NOT a non Oring drag chain ... This chain is the strongest gold Xring chain on the market.... With the power the zx14 puts out you don't want a wimpy chain... Smokin..

Thanks Rick ... Rick One would think the Usoft would have to hook better than stock ? Hell i had no problem hooking with the stock tire at stock wheel base... To bad it's bald at 1000 miles ...lol...Rick i really like the OEM and better rider statement, that sums up my feeling to a tee....

I forgot to add the Super Corsa sc0 is for when I make my 14 62" wheelbase!!!...The OEM tire is perfect for stock wheel base!!!

Lee right now I use the Super Corsa sc2 on the 60" 12...I got 120 passes and had to change it because I picked up a nail at the DragStrip The sc2 before that gave me 160 passes Yes it includes the burnouts!!!...If your staying with stock wheelbase then go with the sc2 roadrace take off, you can get it for $100, by the way the tire weighs 12lbs...

Lee if you cant find a sc2 or sc1roadrace take off in good shape, then get intouch with Richie...He hooks up Ryan, Rickey and Coby!!!...Tell him I sent you... http://www.richiestires.com/
