Once when I was young, I had a guy turn left in front of me in a wide open wet parking lot to get to the donut shop. I grabbed the fronts on my FZR 1000 and down I went, I panic braked and locked the front. I was bruised and pissed and when I yelled at the guy he said "we never hit so no harm no foul". I was young and dumb just picked up my bike bend the shift lever back and rode off. Some of these drivers think you have to make contact to be responcible for a bike crash. They dont realize locking up the brakes on a bike can cause crashes.
So what was the other drivers responce to your lay down?
these are his words to the T "hey are u o.k man when i seen u behind me i thought i had more time to make that (meaning the turn) are u o.k man this was the first time driving my wife's car" I did forget to mention after the lay down the bike made minor contact to his vehicle but when the officer came out and both sides were revealed no citations were issued but due to the LAW i will be faulted at a higher percentage because i was behind him.

My dealer warned me the other day not to lay mine down. He said they have an insurance deal thats been waiting forever for a few plastic parts. Kawasaki tells them their emphasis is addressing the high demand of new bikes right now rather than replacement parts. I don't know if there's any truth to that and maybe some of those web sites do have OEM body parts available
