need stock parts for a blue zx 14 I had to lay my (BLUE) zx14 down last week I need mostly plactic parts for the right side if anyone has a site or some info please reply thanks

I just left a traffic light almost a 1/4 mile and a toyota suv (in front of me) tried to make a quick turn to the left to back in a parking space on the right side of a busy hwy so he did not have to back out into the hwy at a later time (DUMB ASS) at which time I locked my back brakes and gradually applied my fronts to no avail forcing me to lay it down. oh yeah traveling at or about 45-50 mph on a two lane hwy with a chevy pick up in the left lane next to my left side i've been ridding motorcycles since I was 15 years old now 28 owned 3 previous bikes 1978 Honda VF 750, 1992 CBR 600 F2, and a 1999 CBR 900 never had to lay any of them down so i'm pissed and if we only have jokes and not real help to get me back on the road take it up the tail pipe

When people say they "had lay it down", the implication is that the person did so on purpose. Getting on the brakes will always slow down a motorcycle better than sliding on the pavement. Now that you have explained what happened, it is clear you did not choose to "lay it down"; you crashed (happens to all of us). With that said, I hope you are OK.
New parts should be somewhat easy to get. Many people swear by Ron Ayers Motorsports http://www.ronayers.com/
Finding used parts will be difficult to impossible. Not many of these bikes have been crashed yet. The few that have been crashed/parted will be difficult to locate. However, finding a used, stock exhaust system will be the easiest task of all

Thanks TJ I really appreciate the link. I'll give those guys a call because the zx-14's parts were not listed on the site. Oh i'm O.K two minor fractures to my right leg. i'm kinda glad in a way that I held off on the after market exhaust I almost went with the yoshimura slip ons the only thing that stopped me other than the "CRASH" was I never heard them, I only liked the way they look.

You are asking for links to find parts? What is wrong with calling the dealer where you bought the thing?

Why would you lock the back brake? One would normally get on the fronts and try to avoid the inevitable.
Well the dealer where I bought it is about 350 miles away and the dealer in my area would not break on the selling price after I told him about the deal I was getting 350 miles away
so unfortunately for my 500 mile oil change I brought it to none other than the dealer in my area which kept my bike for a week in a half, which was supposed to be a 1 day service,and only reply was "u can come and pick it up if you want but my service tech never got to it because 1 went out sick and the other tech is on vacation".maybe this was true or an act of hate unknown so i will never step foot in that dealership again.
hey like I said i've been ridding motorcyles for a while that method I used normally worked with my other bikes.Now this is a more heavier bike compared to my others not to mention I way more now (260-270 lbs.) than I did years ago plus I only driven the bike 550 miles mostly just to break her in so u be the judge.

Ghost ryder dont sweat some of the comments here. Most people here are friendly and helpful most of the time. Sucks about your bike for sure. Been there done that in the past. If your going to buy plastic online www.ronayers.com or www.bikebandit.com are proabably fairly good places to purchase from.. There was also some new body plastic on ebay a week or so ago you might look there for it.. How bad is the bike damaged, is the plastic repairable or it is it junk...

GR - Ron Ayers (www.ronayers.com) has some of the best prices. Typically 40% lower than retail. He has online fiche for all the parts, and you can call and work with them to order all the parts.
I think bikebandit.com is another source, but I've never used them.
I don't think anyone here is gonna have any extra plastics.

I drove the bike home after the crash I need all new plactics for the right side my plastics are unrepairable in my opinion only because I want her to look like new again, and thanks for the welcome

hey locking up the back brake was not on purpose but gradually applied my fronts were in my opinion were correct because once you have made contact with your front brake you start to give them a lot of pressure gradually vs. a hard grab so hey I will try panic braking on the 14 when I get her back on the road

Hey thanks for those sites and thats a true statement kawasaki is putting so much into production of the zx-14 "very good thing" so I may have a little wait ahead for plastics. thanks again

Sorry to hear about the accident, but welcome anyway. I learned about the "rear brake" twice on my ZXR before someone told me to lay off of it most of the time... that was the best advise I've ever received. Both "lay downs" (aka crashes) were because I applied too much rear brake and lost the rear.
Just checked eBay - nothing there. There have been a couple of body pieces come and go, but they haven't lasted long. Maybe FasterThanStink has some pieces left over if he bought his bike back from the ins company?

I've actually locked the front in a panic stop...Bike went perfectly straight on me. That's a nice feeling, having done the 'nose over - snap upright' move on my 12R in the past. Have locked the rear just figuring out where the lockup point is. Don't even want to think about every going down on it...

yeah thats never a good thought. I wish I could be doing some mods but this the unfortunate part of it

My question is ......Did the SUV driver assume any responcibility for your lay down?
Once when I was young, I had a guy turn left in front of me in a wide open wet parking lot to get to the donut shop. I grabbed the fronts on my FZR 1000 and down I went, I panic braked and locked the front. I was bruised and pissed and when I yelled at the guy he said "we never hit so no harm no foul". I was young and dumb just picked up my bike bend the shift lever back and rode off. Some of these drivers think you have to make contact to be responcible for a bike crash. They dont realize locking up the brakes on a bike can cause crashes.
So what was the other drivers responce to your lay down?
