ZX14 is this bike teflon? I have owned 28 bikes in my 50 years of life and have never had a bike that stays so clean I can ride the hell out of it in the valley heat or in the sierra foothills and there is hardly ever a bug splat-this cant be said for my 1000rr and surely not for my VTX1800 neo which collects bugs in places I didnt know possible. This must validate the time and design that went into aerodynamics. Or I am going so damn fast they just disintegrate on impact???

Great post. LOL
They must be spraying like crazy out there.
You better check how much bug spray you been breathing.
My bike did seem clean after wet rides. New bike and all I guessed.

If you ride slow, the fairing is so efficient, it will push a bug away from the air stream. Even your face shield is immuned. That's Engineering!
What if you speed up? Well, the scoop takes in all the air it can. Bugs don't have time to splat. It's a virtual air cleaner up at the nose. Anything in the way is sucked in.
You'll find every last bug you ever smashed into; at the front of the air cleaner filter.

Makes me wonder how aero the 14 is compared to the 'busa...

That's funny, bugs don't stick to my blue ZX14. Must be because its the fastest.
June bugs in Louisiana are about 6" long, and heavy. They look like nothing you've ever seen before. Had one hit me in the face shield at about 50. Almost knocked me off the bike. And don't get me started about love bugs. These are bugs that fly around connected at the ass. When they get on your paint, you better wash it off soon, or the acid in them will eat your paint, bad.
I use this stuff called "Pig-Spit" on the front of the bike, and the bugs don't stick. Stuff is like silicon or something. Bought it at walmart. I coated the inside rear fender of my bike with it before going to the drags. When I got home there wasn't any melted rubber under the fender. Never seen anything like it. And it won't hurt paint

I agree with the paint being strong. I was pelted with construction debris on my way home from bike night, and not one chip. However my first chip came when I got a lugnut in the chin and fell and chipped my tank.
