No flies on me!!!! Finally!!!!

Thanks to Busa (Hard to believe) I finally got my Flies out. Took me about an hour and a half (not so good with the body panals) but I got um.
For anyone who hasn't taken them out DO IT!!!!! Now the bike plays with me. Before, I hated lag time whenever I got on it. Much less now!!! Beat litres with ease like never before.
Plans- T1 exhaust ( I think), Power commander.
Has anyone seen the dual superchargers for this bike, adding 25 hp each? Pretty cool, just wondering if they work? If so, I'm getting those as well.

You need to get a power commander on there. My A/F's were 17.14 to 1 with the flies out......tha's bad...real bad. My gas mileage went to poop too. Anything under 3500 it was crap...maybe 10mpg. Alittle tip about the body panels...i take 2 cordless drills with cut off allen wrenchs and use them to pull the body off and on. I have done it a million times and can get the bike taken apart in about 5 minutes.....ya lost me on the supercharger though.

I have a 1/4" hex socket set, and will be picking up a 1/4" adapter to use on my drill. Sounds like a great way to do this.

Who has the superchargers? What type of weight do they add and how tough is the install on them...? Flatbou is right...you have to map the bike now or worry about pistons burning.

If you go with a 4-2-1 exhaust, you lose about 28 lbs (need to soften the rear suspension once you do that)...and if you go down a tooth in the front to 16...you get even more punch...might not be as quick as S/C's, but still very impressive. S/C's can be a pain in the ass...sometimes not worth the cost or effort...you might just make up what you need with cams/heads/pistons etc...and might be less costly. I'd wait before doing anything more, just because there will be a lot of aftermarket solutions in the next 6 months...

Makes sense. I didn't touch my bike for the first 1500 miles, but I've been getting crazy lately. I need to think it through more, thats why I ask.

Can you tell us where you saw these superchargers? It's been asked several times now in this thread... you've peaked everyone's interest... now come clean!

Where, who, how... pictures, links, articles... give us the goods.

Wait, I'm confused. Removing flies means you need immediate re-map? My bike rides nice, and has good mileage, is there something I'm missing?

htosado, your engine is running VERY lean at cruising speeds now...mileage will no doubt be better because it uses less gas...but that isn't the problem...since it is running so lean, you can burn the pistons without any prior effect or notice...long term, you will damage your engine. See Brock's comments in his thread on this...

Horchata, TAKE HEED !!!
This flys out thing has been done in many threads and covered by Brock, I can't remember where the thread is but find it or email him and ask, he addressed the issue square on.

Very dangerous to take out flys and run that lean!!!!

Or if you want, run it and let us know what the new engine costs.

Dunno. Have you seen any 3rd party dyno results? All I've seen is GPW advertising, which isn't of any value...

He tested them, the e-force superchargers on a Busa, no change. They are no longer for sale. Interesting idea, too bad it didn't work

On another note...removing the flies on the 10R causes the bike to run richer...that after re-Dyno'ing yesterday.

AFR's of 12/11:1 pull harder on the road than 13:1. This was proved to me yesterday when we re-tuned with AFR's of 13.2:1. I rode 75 miles and found much more popping on decel with the leaner maps and the bike was sluggish on the low end. When I reloaded the flies in map which on the Dyno (flies in) was 13.1 and flies out was 11.5-12.1...the bike ran way better (on the road) with less peak power. I don't know why the mix got richer by removing the flies, but it did and now that I've reloaded the richer map, the bike does run much better and pulls much harder...

I am told by the tuner who tunes and works for one of the CDN Superbike racers, that this particular racer runs his bike quite rich on the track and gets much better performance as opposed to an AFR of 13.1:1. He runs with AFR's of 11.1 or lower.

The thing I'm not getting is that Ivan's TRE, which supposedly opens the valves at #K instead of 7K should create this alleged dangerous lean condition, also, right? Ivan has stated that there is no dangerous lean condition down low with the TRE, so wouldn't that mean that removing the flies is okay??? Also, I think Ojref tested his A/F ratios and found no difference flies-in/flies-out...speaking about an otherwise stock ZX14 here, of course...

And why do you have another thread in this forum saying you want to know where the cheapest Power Commander is when up above in this thread you say"quote" your waiting for your Power Commander to arrive?

If I'm being critical I apoligize but this is confusing!

Maybe I'm reading this stuff wrong.
