quote: Now I understand, so the big part is figuring out the RIGHT gearing and of course still performing mods to gain sufficient power. You can never have enough power. lol
Another question, is the speedo healer still the only thing available to disable the speed limiter?
Also when is your next run BobC and how fast are you hoping to run?
You can disable the speed limiter on a one-off basis. Just unplug the 3-pin connector which carries the signal from the gearbox sprocket tachometer (down by your left foot). You will be able to do just one run before the ecu senses an error. You then have to switch the ignition off and re-connect to reset everything.
Our next meeting is on September 2nd and 3rd. If I can get the parts I need in time I will be entering Class 2. The bike will be lowered with mirrors removed, geared up to 18/41 and hopefully running a Titanium exhaust system and PC. I expect it to exceed 195. I think peak power gives around 196 on this gearing. I'm currently waiting for the sprocket and Ti system. If they don't arrive in time I'll go in Class 1 again and try to better the existing record of 191.1mph.

I'm thinking it will take 400 to 500 horsepower to run 250mph, hope your Dad's modifications consist of enough things to make this kind of power.
With normal bolt-ons such as pipe, PC, air filters, gearing, etc. I'd say 205 is within reach at Maxton, maybe a tad more. I have no idea what conditions are like where you guys will run at.
Good luck,
Dan
My somewhat crude calculations show 408 rwhp to achieve 250 mph with an otherwise stock ZX-14.
