UPS tracking says mine will arrive on the 20th. I have a red 14. Since they couldn't match the red color exactly I purchased the carbon fiber cause I liked it on my other bike.

Got the tank bra; just installed it. There is a slight color difference; I was expecting that. It fits perfect. Don't know if it will show up on pics or not. Going out to take pics now! The tape has to stay on 24 hours so it forms to the tank. The first pic is really what it looks like when your looking at it in person.

Why wouldn't they have it go all the way down? The 3M sheets cover the entire vertical sides of the tank, and then about as far up the front as you show this product to go on the front of the tank. It looks okay, but given the $30 price tag of the 3M sheets and the better coverage (full sides, headlights and front of tank), I believe the 3M sheets is a better value in my own humble opinion. I might have decided to go with the Mag if I didn't find the 3M version of this, also there would be the the lack of cursing that probably goes with the Mag over the 3M installation (squeegie, then squeegie some more until the adhesive takes over on the ripples...!

I think it's a toss-up between both products as far as installation difficulty goes. For sure, you'll find a shortage of raving Mag-Knight fans on the CBR-1100XX forums...

In any case, I think this Mag or the 3M equivalent is still a TON better looking than a bra. Both look pretty good, I just lean more toward the 3M sheets due to cost, color, and coverage. I would be afraid also that the Mag would allow some dirt to get under the magnetic areas that did not quite conform, and cause clear coat scuffing. Nothing gets under the 3M stuff, except maybe along the the leading edge of the product.

This product fits pretty tight and does not move. Don't worry about anything getting under there. Also, you can remove it to wax and clean anyway and then put it back..................it's magnetic, remember? 3M is a good alternative too. Just a pain to install. I tried that stuff once and while I got it on ok, it was just too much work.

+1, it was indeed alot of work. It took me about 1 to 1.5 hours to install the headlights (4 pieces), and the 3 piece tank set. Quite a few expletives helped me along the way too! The end result is very nice with an almost invisible skin on the tank, totally invisible on the lights. I may buy some generic 3M sheets and do the fender next.

So I'm gonna try this. It's my first picture post. Hope it works. Supposed to be pics of the MagKnight carbon fiber tank bra on my red 14. Got my fingers crossed. If it doesn't work I'll try again.

Didn't think I'd like the carbon fiber on red but it actually looks pretty good. Pics don't do it justice.
