My OLD bikes It has been asked of me on ZX-14, that I share pictures of some of my older bikes (trash). We just took them out of long term storage and the Kz1400 Turbo looks like dog shit! They seemed to have been subjected to excessive moisture, but Mr Turbo isn't the best when it comes to chrome anyway. The V-Max looks OK but just dirty. Here they are so you can cringe:

Yes, that is part of the garage, or one of 'em. And yes, that is my '88 1500 GoldThing. [as he hides his head in shame]

Cool, I really liked them. I had an 1980 that I bought new in '82 for cheap and in 1988 I found the one above rusting away in central Florida and did a few mods to it: bored .100 over, from 1286 to 1392; 8:1 pistons, as I recall; 27+ lbs of boost and water injection. NOT a nice motorcycle . . . ____________

Man, take the tank off, look at that single center spine...THINK about the power of that turbo, and what's happening there... *shiver* ____________

Yes, it was scary, especially riding along at 150 mph in 5th at "zero" boost and whacking the throttle wide open and being hammered with acceleration like the V-Max in 1st. I have no desire to ride that bike again! The only really good thing about it was with that open pipe, that 6 cylinder sounded like an Indy car of the same era.

Thanks Mike, it is the only one of it's kind, a friend and I came up with it when it had 50 miles on it back in early spring of '85. Back then they came in metalic Burgandy and Blue[ish]/purple.

It isn't THAT big but my military vehicles take up a LOT of room. It's still a work in progress and isn't nearly finished, maybe in 5 or so years more. :P

It's my way of pissing of the MicroShaftees, have a garage bigger than my house . . . or theirs. A boy has to have his priorities and my wife lets me do it, what can I say?

A friend and I built it to that point in about 5 months and it was about 5 years of saving up and thinking things through before we even broke ground. It still isn't finished though . . .
