That's why I wanted to sell my bike. I have no liquid cash and a Xerox came up for sale through a divorce for only 11,500.00 with only 3200 miles on it. Even used they are still worth over 30. I had a hard time getting the title from the finace company, so I quit the deal. I had the bike for 3 days, and compared notes on both bikes.
People see 150 hp and they think weak sportbike, but it is way faster in many respects. That 150 hp is available on demand in any rpm rangeand has no lag. It is also only 399 lbs, and handles better than any bike I've ridden. After all is said, it can still go 200 + mph and has no limiter. It seemed to good to be true, and I guess it was. I could have bought another 14 when I sold it.

That bike with 150 hp would not go 200 mph if you dropped it from a 747 at 30,000 feet ...If it made it to 180 i would be suprized...

I agree, you'd need more than 200 Hp to crack the 200 mph mark. ZX-14 has 197 crank and will do about 189 mph. Do the math, drag and power required are exponential.

check out the road tests on the Ducati 999 Xerox, your wrong. A standard 999 does about 165, a 999r about 178, and a 999s about 185, which are not unrestricted like the Xerox which has gone over 200 on several track rides

Watch the worlds fastest indian and tell me his bike had 200hp. He did 201mph dipshit on a v-twin. If an Italjet 49cc scooter can do 90 mph, a ducati can sure do 200mph. Besides, don't listen to me dumbass, do some research. Read up on the Xerox for yourself, that maybe why they win all those races, and run more than 200mph on that same motor and frame.

Horsepower required to overcome aerodynamic drag varies as the cube of the increase in velocity, i.e. to double the speed of that scooter from 90 mph to 180 would require 8 times the horsepower (2 cubed =8). This is disregarding rolling resistance which increases in a linear fashion.. So in actuality it would take way more than an 8 fold increase in HP to break 180 mph on your hypothetical scooter. I work in aviation, to go faster you streamline, adding power is an inefficient way to add speed. The only way a 150 hp bike is going to break 200 mph is if the Cd or drag coefficient is drastically lower than everyone else. A V-twin has less frontal area and hence a slight advantage in Cd but not that much or everyone including KHI would be going to V-twins. It ain't happenin' cap'n.not with no measly 150 hp.

Fastest busa your just grandfathered in. Your like the old man of the sea in this site.
Scificanada, what credibility? and you have some? Just because I speak my mind it's a credibility issue?
S A Kruz I respect what you are saying, but I have read this is it's capabilities and only know what I read. I went on the bike at 172 (Measured by radar) and it seemed to have plenty left. It is listed to have 150hp at the rear wheel. I assummed to believe at that point what I read.
For all you slow readers who wish me to slow down everything so you can catch up, or I have no credibility. Credibility is based on fact, which i have never lied or misslead. Thats not to say I've never been wrong, I just express what I've read or experienced and share it for logical feedback like Kruz.
People like Busa never read things correctly or completely, and jump to critique. While people like Sattle Warts and Scificanada jump on the skirt-tails and kiss his old Seasalt ass.
If you think I have credibility issues, call me on them and you'll be wrong I promise.

Credibility call:

My ZX got 11,000 from my local dealer, plus refund of my warranty.

The key word here being "got", not "would get", not "could get", but "got", as in "did get", as in past tense.

zerMatt, I stopped the deal after seeing the condition of the Ducati and feeling it wasn't in my best interest. The dealer (Del Amo Motorsports) approached me about buying my bike for 11000 because they had a someone (assuming an employee) who wanted it. They have not had a black one, and only had a red one at that time. They don't have a black one even now.

All love for you Busa, at least you wear my picture proudly. How many people in here get people to change the picture of who they are.
Besides, other than riding I have no life, so you come in handy for getting all crazzzed up.
