the busa still fastest.
sport rider has test 2006 zx14 unrectricted to 188.3 and busa 188.9.i know the 14 is quicker stock but it still shows the busa with 10 to 14 less hp still has better aerodynamics.

I'm sure gearing has nothing to do with top speed. I had better run out and trade my 14 in for a busa! The 0.6 mph increase is really going to help shorten my commute

wrong..sport rider in 2001 clocked a stock 12r to 190.7.. Indpendent timer timed an 00 at 190.8... I personanally have NEVER lost to any busa on a roll on to any speed..
supra
btw Doug M clocked the 12r to 192.307 at maxton on a hot ass day.. The 14 has already run 196mph at maxton.. before you come to this board make sure your homework is done..

the 14 at maxton gear changed and thats different rider.we are talking same day same rider.the guy at maxton may or may not do the same each day out.1999 busa went 194 bone stock and other real world riders have been 194gps with their busa 1999 or 2000 model.the busa may not hit 194 in one mile.the 14 is 5 to 10 bikes quicker getting there.

I'm sure it won't go over well...But, I could care less. The 14 is a better bike. Period.
Nothing against the 'Busa. I had one. Great bike. It's just ready for an update. The 14 is readily better.

The tit-for-tat times and top speeds are about who is testing, and so its close a wash anyway. I bought my 14 because Suzuki did such a great job with 'busa sales, there's one around every corner. They sold 10,000 last year alone.
Thats my story and I'm sticking to it

check and see which bikes holds the record for that particular class at maxton......
end of story....

before it was stroked, my 2k 12 w/akro, pciiir, and bmc race filters did 194 on the dyno. speedo said 210. I always wondered how close to 194 it would have made on the road.

At the last speed meeting I went to Class 1, for totally standard production bikes, went like this.
1st, ZZR1400, 191.1mph
2nd, ZZR1400, 190.4mph (that was me)
3rd ,YZF-R1, 188mph (a loan bike from Yamaha UK with mirrors removed, strangely fast ??)
4th, 'Busa, 184.9mph
Quite a few 'Busa'a and ZX-12R's were slower than this in Class 2, which allows pipes, PC's and so on. The timing lights don't lie !

It's worth saying that the rider makes a difference to attainable top speed. Apart from weight and size, technique is important.

It is the rider but I believe with equal riders and the quarter mile, the busa will launch harder but get sucked up rather quick unless low-end torque is fixed.
