Stock Results & Surrender
After additional dyno work I have a maximum 169.7 SAE horsepower with the stock pipes. We are all in agreement that 170 or so is the very best we can do with the stock set-up. I have the secondayrs removed and the mapping is right on with a low end torque increase of about 25 ft/lbs and runs smooth and hard-----but.
I admitt surrender-----I ordered a Brocks pipe today. No more quite--sigh.

Not all bad.. thats about the most I expect with my 10R with flies removed and dynoed with MR10 racing gas .. maybe 172 hp ? will
I have no doubt judging by folks results the ZX-14 deserves a brock pipe...Have fun.. weight savings are good as well...why not?

Yup....so you should see a gain of at least another 12+ ponies once the pipe is on and mapped...+ a flatline from 9500 to red line insted of the big dip you have now...Do you have charts from your runs? Can you post 'em? Brock has a map for that pipe and flies out...it should give you 99% of a Dyno run...

You think?? You mean I really do not have to go through another dyno session?? Those dyno runs drive me nuts---my heart tells me it is going to stay together but my mind says "get the hell out of the way---this thing is going to blow!!"
The Brock maps are that good-----??

You have a few choices other than Dyno...you could buy a wide band unit (Brock has them) and do your own mapping...the unit has real time capability and recording history and they are fairly cheap. You could use Brock's map with this setup; he has the map for that exact setup and swears that the bike will be almost the same as if you had run it on a Dyno. He had posted something to the effect that all bikes leave KHI with the same map (of course we all know that) and that as far as he was concerned, the differences between a properly done downloaded map and a Dyno would be negligible.
Check out this lnk for the Wide Band PC (LM-1)

The average gain that has been shown is 12hp to15hp for a Brock & PC with pump fuel tuned, mr9 or u4 add another 4hp to 5 hp.
Brock's chart show's 12 hp just bolting the pipe on a 14 without tuning.

Sounds GOOD---I just was holding out on the stock setup---crow does not taste too bad if you add some garlic.

+1
and removing the airfliter will give another 5HP approx.
The Map brock gives is VERY close to what you'll end up with after a dyno!
If you plan on further mods, it could wait until then.
I'm waiting for higher compression (thinner) head gasket, and maybe some porting and cams, and ignition advance, before I put mine on the dyno.
Probably will be somtime this fall !

say fastesbusa.
is this unit : the LM-1 used much in motorcycles? seems like a oxygen sensor and a meter.. how would a guy extract the numbers for all rpm's?? would have to have the rear wheel on a stand on spools and let her rip at different rpm's ?
know anything you have seen on this use for home guys?
looks good as it could save me time and money.. not to mention could do for multiple bikes and multiple maps with different fuels and setups ...is it practical for home use I wonder...
