Glad my bike gives me no heat problems. I drive it to work daily in Florida.
And my fan stops when I shut it off too LoL

I live in Wisconsin, and it has been in the 80's around here in the day, and 55-60 in the evening. Obviously at 80 degrees with open roads it runs pretty cool. We don't have traffic to sit in for more than one or two minutes... I have not had one problem or concern. I don't even understand those that are complaining about their legs getting hot?? I can barely feel the hot air come out when the fan kicks on. Maybe you all forgot the zx-11??!! That was the worst bike for engine heat... I used to shut it off through town at a red light,, (the lone red light) not because the motor was hot but because the fan blew out both sides right onto my thighs!! This bike I really don't even notice it.
Two other things though: Is anyone else averaging about 34mpg. Almost every fill up I average about 34 mpg. (I never got more than 35). I do not hammer the bike.... I am easier on this bike than any of my others. I hear of most getting 40-42mpg even when riding it hard. And lastly, has anyone else noticed when the temperature outside is below 60 degrees that the bike is noticably faster? That seems to be the magic number here. All bikes are that way, but this bike is really ,"seat of the pants", a lot faster. Just seeing if anyone else has seen this or Pizza Hut gave me the wrong mushrooms??

1) (Toolman was dead on above) these are classic signs of air lock. The zx-12r is almost guaranteed to air lock if you don't thoroughly burp it. Been there, seen it happen to a hundred guys. It would not surprise me in the least if the zx-14 has the same issue.
2) Bikes are notoriously over glycol'd from the dealer. Usually it's a 50 or 60 pct glycol mix the day you pick it up. Bad, bad, bad for hot weather. But thats not your problem... Just making it worse.
3) As Gene stated, if you have a pinched overflow tube it will ruin your day because there is 15 lbs of pressure pushing coolant into the overflow tank but not nearly enough vacuum to pull it back into the radiator. This has tripped up more than one mechanic.
4) As for the headshake, first thing that needs to be checked is the wheel balance. Weights occasionally fall off, shit happens. Start simple.
The above being said, if you are a strong wrench you should know this. No offense but don't throw out the "Kawasaki Tech" thing on this site and expect respect. There are many people here who have forgotten more about motorcycles than most will ever know.

My ZX14 hier in the Netherlands is overheading as wel, it was 92 here humanity 85 and it was alllllllways till the top and the fan was running all the time. Now it is 85 and humantity 60 and still getting hot .
Muzzys got a bigger fan and they claime that it cooles the 14 better! Does anyone know and tell me whether is true of not ??????

Well....that was me that posted what I had done...and yes, the results are about the same. No perceptible difference between manufacturer's coolant mix and only water with a bottle of redline, but the engine never overheats, only overheats the rider. :P
IMO, it would be waste of money and time to do what I did...since it's done on my bike, I'll just leave it alone -- Muzzy fan?...a bigger waste. If the fan pushed more air, you'd just get more heat on your legs, hardly worth the trouble to cut and fit the fan for no results. I've yet to see a plastic fan melt from heat from the headers on these bikes. Adding a 2nd fan would also be a waste IMO, what wil it do? Heat is there all the time while riding even when the fan is off. Here's the answer: LIVE WITH IT. The problem is more in the way the heat vents at the rider than the actual heat itself. The Hayabusa was great that way as the heat never hit the rider, but that's about the only thing that was better between the 2 bikes. I can deal with the heat. Small price to pay. For those who are overheating, go back to the dealer and have the system burped or flushed.

Today it was 92 degrees out with no breeze... I rode to work (with a helmet LOL) and the bike was between 2 and 3 bars... My legs never felt any motor heat at all... However my head was sweating... ha ha Really though, I seem to have a cool running 14 at the moment with 1000 miles...
