Rode 1623 miles in 4 days Left Iowa for Ark. on Thursday and was back home Sunday, All I can say is the 14 is an all around good bike for everything, only complaint was stock seat starting getting to me after about 90 miles. But I ordered a Corbin today so that should take care of it.

We rode 600 miles over the weekend, Niagra Falls and back. What I saw was the best mileage was at 80 mph. 43 -45 mpg. At 70 -75 mph only 37 -39 mpg. The bikes seem to just humm along at 80

I'm still breaking in, average is about 35 right now, but that's combined. The few times I've punched it over to instant, I did notice that it read in the 40's when I was over 75. If only I could convince the po-po's that's a good thing! ____________

Have any of you corrected your speedometer error? I did, and it seemed to affect the economy by about the same amount, so in town now, I am only getting like 32 mpg.

I haven't gotten a speedo healer as of yet. However I always check mileage at the time of fill-up's. Mileageage is a little higher then indacated by instramentation. I figured that to be because of speedo being fast ?

+1 I thought it was just my bike. I wonder if you'd be up for another experiment? Next trip try a tank of regular 87 oct fuel. My thinking is you will do even better MPG wise.

I am thinking of buying a 14 for use with a touring bias. where I live range is an important factor. With moderate?? riding say 80mph on straights and roads with a few corners & hills what range to a tank can I expect. Thanks for your comments

I can normally clear 200 miles per tank while traveling. Around town and Quick Trips 170-180 miles is the norm. Last weeks 300 mile ride my low fuel lamp came on at 212 miles or 45+ MPG. I hate traveling on a Holiday, cops were everywhere so I kept it at 80 the 14 best MPG range. Note when the low fuel lamp comes on you have between 20-35 miles to empty, Pretty Accurate...Pretty Scary
