$400.00 Later Quick info---all day at Dyno yesterday for custom map. Stock everything execpt for secondarys removed. Before mapping, as Brock says, the fuel curve was all over the place. Off the scale lean at low rpms and off the scale rich at top rpms. (scale was 10 and 18).
165.3 stock sae horspower @100.6 # of torque. before mapping.
After one whole hour of mapping the thing, we wound up with 169.2 sae horsepower @103.7 # of torque. All sae horsepower no smoothing.
This is the first time I have ever had a custom map for a bike. The differance is amazing---it is truly like an electric motor now--no hesitation, flat spots--great throttle response at all rpm's. For those of you that have removed the secondarys and have a stock exhaust this is the only way to go. It cost me 300.00 plus tax for the mapping and 75.00 plus tax for the O2 bung to be welded in the stock system.
With the way it is running now, I do not ever plan on putting an aftermarket pipe on it. Quite and powerfull--my cup of tea.

True---but then I would have to pay for another map---Additional maps will anly cost me $150.00 each now. Woooo----plus it seems to me that spending time on a dyno must be really hard on an engine. All those pulls to max rpm had me thinking the thing was going to blow any second. Now I have nice bronze colored pipes and a trashed rear tire.

I remember the good old days when a map cost 1.50 at the mobil station and you could drive around all day lost with the family and call it a vaccation

I remember when they were free from any Gas Station, Especially from the Amoco Gas Station in Amboy CA which the I40 fwy killed(The whole town is now owned by one Guy and last I heard It was merely concrete foundations now).

Do all PC's use an O2 sensor, or just the WB version?

Well, he had to remove the left side pipe and he used a cone grinder to make the hole. the bung was almost a press fit and it took al lot of grinding to get it right. He then used a stainless mig to weld it in three places. It took his about 45 minutes to do all this.
I have the Dynojet zx-14 PC and the tuner stated he needed an O2 reading to ge the fuel curves correct. It worked.

Ok, that makes sense. I guess most dynos don't have dual WBO2 sniffers for the tailpipes, so they wouldn't get an accurate reading from just one pipe.
I had seen Dynojet's "Wideband Commander" and thought that it was a Power Commander with wideband monitoring capabilities that would adjust your curve real-time based on actual data. I just looked at the WBC, and it's just a WBO2 sensor with datalogging and display... no fuel management. I wonder why they don't combine the two units into one?

And at .29 cents a gallon a whole day of being lost was still cheaper than buying another map!

So they can nail you twice. Add the timing module and they get you 3 times.
It's not even the grand that you'll have to spend that is the problem. It's where the heck do you put all this stuff?
