Bike Night

Went to bike night last night, Jed's Bar B Q & Brew. Toledo Ohio. Much to my surprize in rolls another Blue 14. Naturally I have to go over and say Hi. He takes his helmet off and he's old enough to be my dad, I'm 46. He seemed like a desent person. Then it hit me, the right fairing and mirror are damaged. He says just got it 2 days ago, backing out of the garage this morning I turned the handle bars and it slipped out of my hands, opps. I wanted to shoot the bastard on principal alone. Not my bike I know . Just could not believe it 132 miles on it and it was already starting to look like a donor bike. Sad for sure. He was heading in to the bar for a couple beers. Oh Boy

2toGo,
I was asked a while back how many miles are too much. I told the kid look at the owner, and how well he/she takes care of their ride.
I said I know there are bikes with 3000 miles on it I would not touch. And my VFR (84,000 miles) that I would jump on right now drive cross-country without a second thought.
At 132 miles, I would have said someone backed his or her car into it, but the beer thing threw that theory out the window. Odds are that 14 is a beater before next years out.

C'mon man,

He was on an $11,000, mass-produced KAWK, right?

What's the BFD?

Besides that, only YOUR rides should matter to you.

I think it refers to pride of ownership , if they got none for their own stuff , guess how much they have for your stuff . And the whole "going for beers on your bike thing " really pisses me off personally , is there really anything more stupid to do than that - oh wait - I know a guy who smokes a joint first ( moron ) then goes for beer .... And he gets all touchy about it when i tell him he's a dumbass ....
