Ams-Oil 20W-50 which is a great touring oil. For those who like a smooth shifting tranny and possible cooler running engine. Not so great for racing a bit too thick.

OIL????? Shell Rotella Full Synthetic 5W-40. About $15.00 Gal at Walley World, and while you are there getting the oil grab a ST7317 oil filter for $2.00. Good stuff, run it in everything I own. TRy it you will like it......TB

I run AMSOil Motorcycle Synthetic 10-40 in the ZX-14, CBR1100XX, the Lightning and I had it in my Sabre V65. Smooth shifting, cooler temps, and longer durations between oil changes.
And for those running auto oil, I pity you when your clutch plates become contaminated with moly additives.

The Shell Rotella has no friction modifiers, and is highly rated for motorcycle use. Do whatever floats your boat, Oil is like filters, some wont use anything but OEM. I am not one of them, and have used the Rotella for years with no problems. My Valkyrie Riders Club has about 20,000 members, and the Rotella is the favored oil. I run it in my Blower Bike, Pity soneone else that needs it.........TB

These threads always seem to deteriorate into a pissing match. Nobody can prove one oil is superior to another in a specific application, too many variables and too damned expensive to do long term studies in a controlled enviroment. Even the manufacturers admit this. It all comes down to what gives you the warm and fuzzies.

I use oil developed from alien technology from the UFO they have at Area 51. Zero friction and a 50,000 mile change interval. Kinda expensive and hard to get however.

Not yet. I am just leaving to mail the title to the insurance company. I finally got the title today. They can get me a check now. They already paid the bank so they are happy. Hopefully in 2 weeks I'll have it. I won't be able to ride it for a month or so however.

I used Klotz 20w50 in my 96 GPZ1100. Those engines were noted to have bad camshaft wear. At 20,000 miles when I sold it this spring 0 cam wear. All ready have it in both 14's Still original clutch in that bike too. 56 miles to the to gallon with Vance & Hines ss2r system, jet kit and air box mods. Bike ran a best 10.80 @ 129. About 120 lbs heavyer than the 14 and had about 40 less ponies. Not bad for the ol beast.

C'mon guys. For the 99% of us that run our bikes hard only on the street, do you really think there's gonna be a meaningful difference among any of the name brand full synthetic motorcycle oils out there?
Just use any well known FULL synthetic after 1k miles and ride the hell out of it.

We all know how many passes my motor has on it, and its still turning tons of mph for a stocker............, I would guess 800 passes on the motor..........., it was turning 124 to 126 mph in the 1/8 this spring, stock internals......., 2002 model
