A good concept with poor marketing
Wrong application too!
How about more powerful, cleaner, lighter, compact efficient engine?
- less parasitic loss?
- less frictional loss?
-less rotating mass?
- rpm limitation dependant on crank assembly limitations, not valvetrain limits!
-higher compressions (15:1 on pump fuel)
-cleaner emisssions
-never need valve adjustment
-more compact dimensions
Coates rotary valve patent has been around for awhile, and with new ceramics, would think it could have been developed to be something great.
Now emission research funds are directed to alternate motive sources than hydrocarbons.....
Too bad!
