What You Don't Know will Please You
I've never owned a bike that was broken in before about 9,000 miles; I've owned 4 in the last 10 years. So what kind of a bike do we have?
This puppy has really matured in the last 500 miles. Passing through 6,250 this morning it occurred to me that the FI has indeed started to quiet, the Front Brakes are still as powerful as day One and this is a first for me. The rear brake is only slightly better but I don't expect any changes before the HH pads are installed. Heat is better than day 1 but any kind of major traffic she can still get pretty warm. I can't describe the smoothness but it's smoother with the addition on a quieting FI, broken-in Chain sprockets and Transmission, Dam you won't believe it can get any smoother BUT IT WILL.
I can't wait to get the last 3,750 fluff miles out of the way to see what kind of gentle beast we really have. One thing for sure the bike your riding today is but a phantom of the bike you really have, just keep breaking her in.
I've never felt this good about a bike after less than 2 months of ownership but the word WOW really says more than I can right now.
For Years Honda's XX his always been known as the Gentleman Super Sports Touring bike. I really hope Honda reverse engineers this puppy because the way I see it they are going to have trouble keeping up with this beauty.

Go Mano2, I have a 2000-3500 miles trip at the end of July and I can't wait. I'm hoping for 10,000 by Aug. 1st but I suspect 11,000 will be the real #.

Yah, it's great. I start talking to peeps and they expect me to rave about the power, the speed... All I want to talk about is how smooth it is, how well finished and comfortable the bike is...

i can't believe you already have over 6000 miles on yours, i put about 12000 miles a year on my car and that is my major transportation!!!
onething i am 100% agree with you is that i can't get enough of riding my zx14. it is a total pleasure riding this bike. i owned many different bikes in past but nothing gave me as much as fun as zx14. just need to make more opportunity to ride. i have the bike for 45 days and have only 650 miles on it. i know that sucks!!!!

Shawnski, It does not really matter how miles you've ridden, it's the fact that when you ride your smile is from ear to ear.
Think of me as the front door, where if there are failures well I should be the first to know. Also I'm a bit anal about maintenance so as the 14 ages she will be getting new fork oil, spark plugs, brake pads, Chain and Sprockets. You get the picture, I'll take Pics and explain the pros and cons in the hope to encourage you all to do some of your own maintenance.
I'll brag a bit here, I also own a VFR that gets ridden twice a week, since my May 4 delivery of the ZX14 I've also put 450 miles on the VFR.
