Opinion: Helibars Worthwhile
Just got back from my first ride with the helibars installed on the 14. The bike has always been pretty comfortable for me. But I could start feeling a little discomfort in both wrists after 2 hours on the bike and after 4 hours the discomfort would linger for several hours after the ride. I didn't think the 3/4" improvement from the ZX-14 helibars would make much difference. But I was wrong. The bike now fits me like a glove. Pressure on the wrists is totally gone and a 2 hour ride resulted in no wrist discomfort at all. Another unexpected benefit is that my cornering when riding at a sporting pace on twisty backroads is much smoother. Previously I had to mentally tell myself to float my hands over the bars and carry all my weight with my back right before I initiated a lean. That's gone since a significant portion of my body weight is no longer supported by the bars. I'm 6 ft, 32 inch inseam, and
wear a 33 inch sleeve. If you fit within that category and you feel some wrist discomfort you might consider the $80 investment. It was well worth it for me.

Had them on my bike for about 3 weeks now. Fit and finish great and have the same results as you as far as comfort.

We're both the same size. I got mine a few weeks ago, but because of work I've only gotten to ride the bike about 30 minutes with them. I couldn't tell a big difference in them, I guess it's just going to take a longer ride.

I'm 6'2" and I'd buy them again in a second, they're worth every penny to me!

The Heli bars SAVED me on my ride from San Francisco to Las Vegas on my 12r.. I'm sure the results are similar on the 14

I put them on the day I brought the bike home. Excellent finish. What I wish I was was a pair of 'caps to cover the bare area exposed with the helibars in place.

These are WAY overpriced but possibly someone will make some with a reasonable price soon.

Overpriced for the bar end caps is an understatement but I have to admit they look nice.
iflyphi, hope the heli's work out for you. 30 minutes never bothered my wrists but after an hour and generally around 2 hours of riding I started to feel some discomfort. They seem to have really worked for me on long rides.

6'1", and they make a little difference, so far. Haven't been on a long ride. That'll tell the tale. Otherwise, they're worth it to me because I can now angle the hand controls farther down towards where I like them. Nice pieces, and worth it, even if overpriced a bit.
