Catalyst Removal ???

I'm holding out to get the exhaust system that I want but I would like to remove the catalyst from the stock system. Has anyone done this? Any advice?

Don't bother. You will just ruin a perfectly good stock exhaust. Enjoy your bike as it is and when you get the new exhaust bolt it up and go,
The catalyst is a part of the muffler design it can't be removed without ruining the muffler.

Hey, thanks for the pic. That's it in the forward section. I never knew the mid pipe was bolted on. I'm gonna check tonite to see if I can get that apart and remove the catalyst. Then plug the air injection and I'll be good to go.

Damn, just looked. The end cap is tack welded on. Need to see if a buddy will let me borrow his TIG machine this weekend. I need the bike to get to and from work. I guess a few more days won't hurt me.

From looking at the picture, the catalyst looks like it bolts in, if you can get the muffler apart without damaging it, you may be good to go.
