Swingarm extentions installed

I'm having a friend do the work so I don't phuck it up. Muzzy exhaust, lowering links and PC are installed also. Oh, and the little straps to pull down the front end.
Still waiting for front sprocket, due in Monday. And the air shifter and Dry NOS, due in, whenever Muzzy gets there act together.

And you'll probably need to move that license plate.

How long until you have it on the track? If nitrous doesn't show up any time soon, will you try any runs without it?

Even though it takes away the handling I must admit that thing looks bad ass.
Almost makes me want to trick it out like that. Let us know what times you pull
with that set up ?

The extensions were $349, chain, about $120, brake line $50??, lowering links $50 on e-bay(guy had them and never used them), having a friend do all the work, $$$$$??

The forks will be lowered as well. You can see the lowering straps on there, but once we get done and check the level of the bike, will probably raise the fork tubes and cut the kick stand. I want the bike to sit relatively level. Remember, this aint no trailer queen. I'm gonna ride this some 40 miles too the drag strip, race, then ride home.
No NOS yet as the muzzy kits aren't available yet. Same for the air shift kits. Just waiting on the front sprocket, next week. Got the shinko today, its not the ultra-soft. But it only cost me $102 shipped, from Tire Express. For this price, I'll just do 2nd gear burnouts a little longer, it'll still hook up.

Lower the forks 1 inch then...If you lower the rear you need to lower the front !!!...Raise the rear when riding to the strip, then lower it when you get there!!!

2nd gear burnouts Nobody does that anymore...But I have seen guys do it, then forget to down shift and launch the bike in 2nd gear Guy stages at 6000rpm, launches the bike at 8500 and it falls on it's face from the bog

If you don't have threded lowering links, the three hole kind would be a pain in the ass to lower at the track. I ride mine with it in the middle hole of the muzzy links with no propblem.

Got mine on the lowest hole, we'll see what the ground clearance is when I get back from work next Thursday.
No way I'm gonna mess with it at the track. Now lowering the front end is easy to do at the track with the straps. By big concern is that oil drain plug, the lowest point of the bike. Somebody has already knocked one off leaving a parking lot. I sure hope somebody is making a billet oil pan with a flat bottom. They make one for the busa.

Oh and did you really need a longer brake line? I have gotten away on a few bikes with just turning the brake line ends facing eachother and freed up 4 or 5 inchs out of the stock line.

You need to lower the front at least as much as the rear or you will have some interesting times on the throttle.

Found that out on my 9, did the rear 4" and the front 2" since it would be strapped at the track. First time out on the higway it was dangling the front in 4th gear.

I'll lower the front to match the rear. I'm concerned about ground clearance as I need to go over some railroad tracks to get to the track. The time may come where I'll just have to trailer the bike to the track, but i'm still hoping to ride it to the track. I have another street bike if I want to pleasure ride. I just don't really have a way to get this bike to the drag strip yet as neither of my cars can accept a trailer hitch. Might have to just rent a u-haul pickup and a bike trailer for race days.
Wish somebody would come out with a billet oil pan so I don't have to worry about knocking off the oil drain plug, that's my biggest worry.

Mines down 1 1/4 front and the lowest hole on the Muzzy links and i drive it everywhere...Never hit bottom , pleanty of clearance ...Mines stock wheel base so it will be sitting lower than yours and i have zero problems on the street.......Looks to be about 2 1/2 to 3 inches of clearance on mine ...

Alright let me rephrase that...if your over 220 pounds and you want to use the the lowest link you will have to firm up the rear shock because it will be too soft for street riding. You probaly will have too anyways because of the extensions.

Yea, i'm gonna give the rear shock a few turns to tighten it up. Some people may not know this, but when you use lowering links and you have the bike stretched, it won't be as low as stock wheel base. Say for example the lowering link go too 2 1/2" lower than stock. If you are 8" over stock on the swingarm, its only going to be about 2" lower. Also, because of the increase in the lever action, the rear shock needs to be stiffened. Now here's the challenging part. I'm going to mostly drag race this bike, and setting up a rear shock for the launch is a true art. One half turn too much, and you'll spin the tire as the shock won't drop down and you won't get good weight tranfer to the back wheel. Too soft, and the front end comes up.
Oh, and I'm "only" 200lbs suited.

I ride around with 3" of clearance and I've never had a problem dragging parts. The only thing that's ever touched down is the rear linkage, and that's rare. I have just a couple of scrapes on it. You just have to be careful when turning over crowns in the road, going over sudden inclines, things like that. I've hit railroad tracks at 50 and didn't have any issues with that.
