zx14 vs. fz1 ( motorcyclist magazine)

for the ones that have not read the new issue of motorcylst mgazine, there is 6 to 7 pages of zx14 vs, 06 fz1.
i guess they did this because of 70's top super street bikes which were z1 in 73 and yamaha had 1100 cc in 1978. they have couple pages of comparison on these two 70's bikes

these are the result on zx14
zx14 hp at 175.6
tourqe at 106.2
0-60 at 2.73
qtr mile at 9.76 at 144.5 miles

all good things about zx14 except soft rear suspension for tall and heavy weight people.
fz1 comments were not good at all.

so why in the hell waste their time compare to fz1 rather than hayabusa.

Yeah, I was a bit dissapointed when I read that article... sort of a waste of time, but they had lots of nice things to say about the '14 anyway.

I can't wait until there are some unbiased (if that's even possible) comparisons against the 'busa. I've never ridden one, but everyone who has raves about the brakes and suspension differences with the '14 coming out way ahead. So far in the magazine sidebars, they don't seem to give the '14 *that* much credit for better suspension or binders, but they have liked it better overall. Still waiting for a true side-by-side test...

I don't think Serius is riding much lately. I've been all over Galveston the last two weekends and haven't seen him.

I'm glad someone else brought that up. It's been the same old thing for years. No matter what Kawasaki puts out there, or what Suz it's tested against and even if the Kaw comes out on top.....the Suzuki always get's the blow softened in the article.

Am I saying the magazines seem real partial to Suzuki? You bet your ass I am!

It shocks me to see the nice write ups the 14 is receiving from the press. IMHO, it only emphasizes the truly great engineering that Kawasaki put into the project. Big thumbs up the the engineering team at Kawasaki that worked on the 14 project. Job well done!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it...

I don't need a magazine to tell me how great the bike is....I already own a ZX14.
