Kickstand options for lowered 14?
I am about to lower my 14, going over to Schnitz's at lunch for the muzzy links.
Now, I can do what I did with my 12R, but want to know the other options. Here is a list I know of right now:
1) Somehow bend the factory stand?
2) Cut and reweld the factory stand. (went this route for my 12R, no going back after that)
3) 2 different aftermarket adjustables available, but at $160-$180 currently.
Are there no other Kaw stands that would fit the 14, and would be a bit shorter than the 14's? I don't have access to any 6Rs, 9Rs, 10Rs, etc to see if there is a different OEM set that would fit the 14. It would be nice to have the stock one still available if needed.
I did the latest kickstand mod to allow the kickstand to go forward just a bit more to make it harder to fold up on its own, and that might help the lean a bit after lowering it, but not enough to be comfortable with the winds we get around.

Just got back from getting the muzzy links from Schnitz, what massive pieces!
I looked at the billet kickstand they have as well, very nice and stout, but I didn't feel like shelling out $190+ for it, plus I had forgotten my tank bag and had limited space in my jacket for parts. (nothing a diet won't take care of)

Get this part # 34024-0026-11E from ronayers.com, about 55-60 bucks. Cut and weld your old unit and paint it. Save the new one from ronayers.com for when you aren't lowered anymore. Does not make the fashion statement that the billet unit makes but so what?

Talked to Glenn @ spencers , ordered on for $125. I know there are cheaper routes, but I like the adjustability.

need to be able to adjust. I try to ride to the track and then set the bike up. I was looking for another cheap route, but what I need to do is spend the money now and be hassle-free later.

spencercycle.com
fair warning, there isn't much listed for the 14...I recommend you call Glenn---shoot them an e-mail and tell them to consider being site sponsers while you're at it.

They had mine in stock. I had to do alittle work on mine to use it when the bike is lowered all the way down. Had to hacksaw some of the outer tube off, because there is 2 threaded holes in the inner tube you can't use because the outer tube is to long.
