Tire Damage From Dyno Tune?

I have read several posts of recent stating that tire damage would result from dyno tuning.
I for one had thought the same thing because that's what I had heard through the motorcycle grapevine. So, back around the early 90's when I was having my 1st dyno tuning done on a NOS 1990 ZX10 that had been punched to a modded 1164 motor, I expressed my concern about the tire to the tuner. The answer I got was not to be concerned because that was a rumor that originated with lesser quality bias ply type tires on early style dynos. Now if memory serves me correct I ran an ME1 Metzeler on that bike which I know was not a radial but, was a the premium quality tire for the time.
Since then I have dyno tuned a significant # of motorcycles myself & have never ever encountered an issue w/ tire failure of any sort.
I know that dyno tuning loads have changed significantly with the intro of eddy current load control . But, when used correctly & figuring in the quality of the current crop of radial tires I feel that this is more of a myth that a fact. Any opinions on this?

dyno tuning, depending on how many runs you do, puts a lot of wear on the tire.........

Yes, I agree that it wears a tire. But, I have tuned my 10 on at least 4 different occasions w/the same tire. I currently have that tire on my 10 & 3 weeks ago did Poconos east coarse.
Tire still has plenty of life, will use it again on 6/27.
I have over 100 runs on an HD Dresser(long story) with the same tire plenty of tread left.
My point is I don't see it wearing any more than aggressive road use.

What I want to put to rest with this post is the myth that you waste your tire & have to replace it when you have your bike custom mapped on a dyno.
