How many of you folks put a bra on the tank to protect it from scratches?
And what brands have you used?

I had a Second Look color-matched tank bra on my ZRX1200R. It fit well and I was quite happy with it. I always removed it for washing and made sure the tank was clean before reinstalling. It never left a mark.
Install was very easy - it had a long bungee-style strap that slipped over the front of the tank, and low-profile plastic hooks for the rear by the seat. You could take it off or on in seconds.
I'm not sure how well a bra will work on the 14 though - those leg cut-outs are pretty deep and concave, and the tank setup doesn't lend itself to hooks or straps... it's all too smooth.
I stuck on one of those carbon-fiber-looking protector pads for now... just to prevent scratching if I jump on with my jeans and a belt.

Installed a custom fit MagKnight magnetic tank protector on my FZ1, carbon fiber look against the black tank. Fit very well and could not get dirt and sand underneath to scratch the tank as easily as with a leather bra. They also come color matched to various bikes. Will consider MagKnight for the 14 also. The custom fit one probably isn't ready, but you can order the material and custom fit yourself. I also tried the clear 3M protectors but I didn't care much them.

I used 3M clear vinyl...works great, then I also stuck a Pro Grip tank pad on the front. I vinyled the tank, sides and under the seat sides.

I ordered a LP tank bra. after waiting a month they finally told me probably the end of June....maybe. I cancelled the order and will use either a MagKnight, or carbon fiber pad. Motrax makes a pretty nice flexible one (as opposed to the hard carbon like LP makes).

For those who are interested, MagKnight is releasing their magnetic tank protector for the ZX-14 on the 14th of July. They are accepting orders now. I like the one on my FZ1 so I ordered one.

I use the LuggageLocker for the bag and have the 3M on the tank from Tankslapper. Since the tank bag doesn't touch the paint I only have to protect the paint from my clothing.

I have one of the mag bra's on my ZZR1200, it's pretty cool. You can't tell it's on there from a distance, and color matches perfectly.
I just put one of those stick on thingy's on my ZX14, carbon fiber look. Dealer through it in for free and looks fine on my Blue bike.

I had a local automotive striping shop apply the 3M tape to my tank and the front portion of my front fender and where the fender flares out by the fork legs.
They had a custom pattern for the '14, which they cut out on a CAD plotting machine. The film on the tank (1 piece) covers both the lower portion of the tank (under the seat) and the sides of the tank and almost up to the gas cap on top. It is practically invisable and should do the trick protecting the paint.
They did an awesome job, tape is very symetrical, no air bubles or imperfections under the tape.
I would take a picture........................but I don't think you could see it!

I bought the bagster tank cover in Blue with the same bag shown, yes it takes away from the look of the bike but it is practical, protects the tank and is great for touring. It comes off really easy if you want to use it just for trips.
On my 8 day 2200 mile trip it was superb, very easy to fill up, you just undo the bottom fasteners and lean it into the screen. I think the bag I got is about 30 litres, I also went for the Bagster Woppa bag for the back seat which just zips on and needs no bungees. All can be seen at www.baglux.com. http://www.bagster.com/en/moto/showroomview.php?id=14

ZX14 Tank Bra
Second Look makes a nice tank bra for the ZX14. My buddy got one for his red '06 and it fit really nice and tight. It is a half-bra style. His is black carbon fiber-like vinyl and looks pretty cool. I am thinking about getting one for my '07.

Bra for my tank?
I have had them on vehicles and removed them due to scratches. The backing always screwed my finish.
Just my 2 cents.
Now the only bra will be found on my wife...
