put them on 2 days ago....much improved riding position for a old guy with a back that does not like to bend.easy to install . 4 bolts... 6mm .I am 5 foot 11....also got a double bubble on the way. I am really pleased with the bars now that they are up and back a little farther.it does not sound like much but it does make the bike more comfortable for me. the risers are first rate and blend right in with the bike. tighten up the bolts to 12 foot lbs. and enjoy.

dbeadling,
What's your height, and are there different options for the bars, as far as rise, distance to you, etc.?
Thanks.

I put mine on too, better for me as well, I am 5'9".
Did you get a smoked double buble, and from where? I think I want a smoked ws, and most likely a double bubble.

Another old guy, this time with bad shoulders, a product of fifty (!) years of bench pressing. The Helis do noticeably improve my ability to stay in the saddle.

I am also very happy with this purchase, at 6'2" I probably need them less than some, but I didn't like the pressure on my wrists below 50 mph. They also moved me away from my tank-bag.

I would like more adjustment than what the heli's gave me, but the limiting factor in their design were the two throttle cables coming within a 1/4" of the fairing when turned completely to the left.
If there was a way to readjust the throttle cable attachment, then there more might be more wiggle room for the heli design.

5'9" to 6'2", I see (Sorry I missed it in the skim of your original post.). Does it allow you to roll the brake/clutch levers any further down? If so, I believe I'm a customer.

the throttle has eliptical mount, if you held the 2 brackets that go on the bars together, it is about 1/16 inch from being perfectly round,
I ground off the little peg, which allowed me turn the whole throttle assembly, giving more clearance with my clip on mods.
The heli set up is the simplist bolt on mod, and about as good as a bolt on improvisation will get.
My clip ons took about 4 hrs to install, lots of modifiing parts, and making new resvoir brackets, and I had tyo lower thr frt suspension 1" to install them
It was not a simple bolt on ......
If simple install is what your after, and are satisfied with the new bar location then I advise helibars be the route!

Aye dubious, yours is more of what I'm looking for.
I have the Heli's on now, but I'd like to try the bars you have on yours. Who makes them? TY.
What I really had in mind with the Heli's is bolt a plate across, drill a couple holes for the perches, and a bar that sets me more upright. I'm willing to take a 2nd strike before 3's the charm.

I am intrested also. I want to prove to a couple of disbelievers that the 14 with the right setup will make an all around do everything bike. Track, twisties, and sport touring, and all the same day if you want.....TB

I too installed Heli Bar risers (not actual bars but risers) Install is so quick that I will leave them off for quick daily stuff and put them on for longer trips. Very nicely finished and made with tight tolerances. No cable stuff to deal with either. Pop em on and go. Remember to use the supplied bolts and torque to 12 ft lbs.

Use these ones:
http://www.spieglerusa.com/cfm/clipon.cfm?type=offset
The ones on the top of the page, I have already picked the 50 mm size for you ... this is the diameter of the fork uppers on the zx14.
I just wrote a 2 page instruction but lost it all while inputing links!
Fuck.
anyway I type slow soooo...
If you have more questions and are serious PM me, I would advise a phone call at that point we ca exchange phone numbers... I can provide instructions and save you alot of time.
It in no way is a direct bolt on !
Definately should phone me before you even order parts!
