Scorpion has the plug in wire connectors available if you call them. I will be installing a Scorpion late next week.

The thing that concerns me about the Scorpion is it utilizes an "Ignition" immobiliser, rather than a Starter one.
The last thing I need is an electronic hic up shutting down my motor mid corner leaned over under power.

The ignition immobilizer is optional. I am skipping that. Motion alarm, perimiter alarm with paging are enough for me.

Unfortunatly insurance company I am using here in Ontario (best rate for bikes) insists on ignition or starter immobilizer... Hence my resistance to Scorp.

Hey all...we are getting production units in the next week or two. I am going to need testing done in the field for these units. I have a limited amount of them to GIVE way for FREE to bikeland.org members. In return for this, I will need feedback from you for the unit that you've installed (on a regular basis).

I will ask you some questions regarding operation on the unit...IE; is it working as it should, any issues...how well it suits your needs...etc...I'll post forms on our site that you can fill out whenever you have feedback for us. We will use your input for design -- and for the best ideas, we'll try to incorporate them into future releases of the product.

I'm going to be very selective as to who gets these units. They are being given away so we can test and get feedback from you, not as a promo. We value your opinions and need your help in testing. The units have been tested extensively but now I want to get at least 100 units in the field before we start selling them.

I would ask that you send me a PM with all of your contact details so we can arrange to get the unit to you. I only ask that you pay the shipping (small amount). Any units not working correctly at any point will be replaced to you free of charge in exchange for the non working unit (not including shipping - again, small fee). We don't expect units to go down as they are built to last...but anything can happen...this is electronics we're talking about.

We don't cut anything on the ignition wires (except starter) just to ensure your bike doesn't die while riding. I'll supply you all with wiring diagrams/owner manuals for the unit and will try to help you on a case by case basis with regards to the bike's wiring. I would prefer that these units be installed personally by those of you who have knowledge of bike wiring, but will also support you if you take it somewhere to have it professionally installed. You will be asked to sign some sort of waiver for the free unit - just something that says you can't slay my first born in case the unit fucks up. When installed correctly, this unit cannot screw up your bike, even if it has issues and dies.

More details to follow in the next few days...

Some initial details can be found here:

FBA, is it going to have a perimiter sensor? I know it can be annoying at times, just have to worry about kids running around my appt complex.. Would rather them not touch it at all.

Few more questions
1) Can you adjust the sensitivity?
2) How long does it take for the alarm to activate once the key is out?
3) Can you disable it if I want to work on the bike?
4) Do the blinkers flash when activated/de-activated?

Glad to hear that you're going to be a sponsor here fba... I kinda figured that was going to be the case when you first started talking about your alarm system a while back and fish didn't shut you down

Question: Does the transponder have an audible and silent alert? Also, are there different alerts at the transponder for motion vs perimiter motion?

1) No it doesn't need one and here's why -- when you park the bike and shut it off, 22 seconds later, the system arms, taking into account the precise position/angle etc.of the bike. It then calibrates the new position and will only trip when the sensor goes off angle by 5 degrees or more, regardless of the speed of the movement. The sensor is what we refer to as an accelerometer (chip based) and is totally electronic. It does not sense impact; we filter that out to avoid any type of false alarms.

2) 22 seconds after ignition off. To disarm, approach the bike with your transponder (either in your pocket, hanging around your neck, or in it's belt clip) turn the key on, wait 2 secs till you hear the siren chirp and you're good to go. No buttons to press! Totally handsfree..perfect design for bikers. You never have to touch your remote (transponder)

3) Yes in more than one way...by key and transponder, either temporarily of permanently until you toggle it back on. But, say you want to work on your bike, leave your transponder within 20ft of the bike and do whatever you have to...as long as the bike sees it, you're fine, or just put it in service mode or fuel mode...all very very simple.

4) We have positive outputs for both left and right flasher...(isolated of course)

Few more things to note:

-- The transponder is a 2-way paging device as well with a range of about 800' (line of site). SIze is about the same as the average factory keyless entry remote for a car. Unit is Code Rolling technology.

-- Motorcycle battery drain...no one can make this claim except us: 250-300 MICRO amps (not millamps) while armed...that's about 1/4 of a milliamp! Your bike battery will never die from the alarm drain...in fact, the battery on most bikes drains faster than that without an alarm...

-- remote battery life with full 2-way paging is about 8 months or so and has low battery indication on it.

-- Built in relays for light flash and starter kill

-- smallest (all in one) alarm/siren in the world and FUCKING loud too! (ear piercing loud)

-- Waterproof unit (not water resistant, waterproof)

-- Built in auto recharging backup battery (not visible)

This unit is like nothing ever built before for bikes....all the technology is new and way out there...the unit will easily fit about anywhere on the bike, but I'll provide install pics for the ZX14 and some other bikes for you to see.

All the components are in the pics on the link I provided in this thread. There is nothing more than what you see in the pics, except the wriring harness of course...

No...for a few reasons...current drain of a perimeter sensor is about 60-80 times that of the unit...false alarms are a nightmare too. There is an input trigger that can be used for one, but we have not seen a waterproof one yet, nor one that does not false or eat batteries.
