kawasaki let me down
kawasaki has created great looking open class sport bikes since the first zx10.the 91 zx11 was the best looking jap sport bike ever made till the 2000 red zx12 came along.to me it is the best looking sport bike of all time. kawasaki up to this point always walked their own path.now they produce this ugly piece of fuck zx14.it's a busa imitator with it's looks.one notch under the eyeyabrusa for ugly.
i have been trying to force myself to buy that thing but my heart say's no.
when i am riding a motorcycle i can't see what it looks like. but when i park it and i look back at it i have to have a feeling of pride. i have to feel that this is a beautiful machine. i like people telling me how good looking my bike is.nobody in their right mind is going to tell me a zx14 looks good.
why because it's fucking ugly.just because susuki makes a ugly bike and it sells dose not mean kawasaki can sell one.
i have spent hours at kawasaki shops waiting for the feeling while looking at the zx14 and it never comes.i walk out the door and take one look at my 6 year old 12r and say fuck you kawasaki you let me down. this red zx12r is what you should have based your styling on if you guys are dried up with your creativity .i have looked enough to see the fit and finish is up on a zx12 but that's never been an issue with me. i a'm officially off the fence.

zx1400 bike to have.....smooth fast and comfortable.handles like a 1000cc bike

Your missing out. It's a great bike, fit and finish is better than the 12R. Engine smoother, transmission smooth, and when the low end power is revived it will be even better. It's taken me a week or so to get used to it, but the more I ride, the more I like it..

i agree with you on zx12. i had 2000 red one with red rims. awsome looking bike. i loved the look of it and had 2002 zx12 black with gold, look good as well.
every bike has to grow on you. look at this way the more i ride the zx14 and more i look at it, the more i like 
i have the blue color zx14 and i am planning to paint the rims blue like the zx12 had on 02 models.

Ya know, I didn't like the looks of my ZZR1200 when I bought it, but I sure liked the way it rode, the long legs, etc...And the looks grew on me.

you can get a bit of a buzz out of cans of whipped cream from the dairy section, but that's pretty ghetto... much easier to steal a case of whippits from Starbucks and spend an afternoon on your livingroom floor covered in spittle.

I love the looks. I think the 12 looks funny with that black intake sticking out , and the Praying mantis eye head lights. I was going to buy one though, then I found out that the 14 was in the making. I'm sure not everyone likes it , but I get people smiling at it all the time. Girls really love it.
I hate when guys say it is ugly or a POS.
It is like saying that someone's wife is Fugly.
(hurts my lil' feelings) LOL

Looks are totaly subjective. I happen to believe that the ZX-12 is a very beautiful bike (owned the faster silver one for a couple years). I also believe that the ZX-14 is the best looking bike that Kaw has produced since the ZX-12. My opinioon doesn't matter to anyone but me. Just as yours doesn't matter to anyone but you. I buy my bikes with performance as being the #1 consideration, and looks somewhere below performance. Luckily the ZX-14 has tha performance that can not be disputed. Enjoy your ZX-12R and I will enjoy my ZX-14 very soon.

It's ok to disagree, as I get nothing but good comments on the looks of my black zx14. I did't like the front of the bike when all I had seen were pictures, but in person at the cycleworld show I loved it, it's wicked looking in black and thats not just my opinion. But to each his own. PS I also have a black gold zx12r 2002.

From the amount of comment's I get about my 14 I would say you are in the minority. Everyone stops to ask questions and the feedback on the aesthetics have been amazing. People love the look of the 14! Myself included. It is different from every other bike. It is instantly recognisable with a glance. I got my car washed today and had found a picture of me and my new bike. Before I could pick it up off the seat, the kid with the vacuum say's "Wow! nice bike. I heard they're faster than a Busa."
The 12's styling is defiantly long in the tooth and while good for it's time, it is yesterdays news. Design and technology move on.
In 5 years or so I will be saying the same thing about the 14. (About when it will be paid for.)

I was out of action for most of the year, but saw my first 14 last Sunday. I was considering posting a comment, but didn't want to make anyone feel bad. However since this thread basically started with what I would have said, all I can say is I'm sorry too, but that bike is butt ugly, and I wouldn't want to call it mine if it was given to me.. sorry.....

Looks of course are very subjective...I get many compliments on my 14...and I like the look...the 12 is a very pretty bike but it's starting to date, like the HayaBugly...

To each is own but I love the look of the 12 to. I think the biggest different is the 12 is more on a racing design the 14 more of a tourer. I look at my friend 's 14 and 12 all the time. Both black bikes. That twelve just looks like it can haul butt which I know the 14 is much faster. I forgot to mention I have a 05 12.

I happen to think the zx12 looks a little too upright. I think the zx14 is the most awesome looking bike out there. It looks mean and sexy. I used to think the zx12 was sweet, but as soon as I saw the first pick of the 14, it was no contest.

i know when i had my busa, people knew what it was and had a lot respect for that bike. guess what now, we got us a new king of everything " THE MIGHTY ZX14"

I love my zx12, But cant keep a clutch in it. Thats why im getting a 14. im not happy with the looks either. But when its better bike , and reliability means alot. Im waiting on a black 1, because i think the gills are hidden better, plus put chrome all over then it has 2 look good. Rickey gadsons 14 kills. So i know we can make em look good. But the 12 was awesome looking stock. Just my 2 cents.
