Wouldn't the EXT cable reach the dash from under the seat? I figured it would be easier to route that wire up to the dash area than to route the red wire with those big connectors all the way up there.

I'm stuck with under the seat since they didn't have the EXT unit in stock when I ordered. I figured under the seat is quick enough for top speed recall as I'll only need to hit that once or twice a week

The EXT cable would have reached without problem. I thought going towards the dash with everything would be cleanest (and easiest).

BTW, I verified calibration today with my handheld GPS. 13% correction (-1 tooth on countershaft sprocket) was dead on at 65 mph.

I installed mine today and I put it right under the speedo and that bracket fits good and hit high speed button.. I took it out with stock gearing and with a GPS and put it -10% and it was pretty damn close to accurate reading maybe 5 % low... Is anyone else seeing this as well?? Does anyone know what the bike actual hits with stock gearing in 6th?? True speed not the damn speedo.. Thanks

Can you take a pic of that speedo bracket where you mounted it? I zip-tied mine under the left ram-air tube right above the radiator. I can reach the button fine, but it's facing down, so I can't see the light or the dip switches well. It works for now, but I may move it later.

I was going to mount it under the seat, but I didn't feel like removing a bunch of crap including the tank to route the wire there.

Newbie question - does the SH affect the stock gear indicator at all ? I recall one person complaining that the bike wasn't displaying the correct gear on the display. Just wanted to make sure b/f I order. Would be nice to have an accurate speedo + no top speed restriction.

I'm having some issues w/ the gear indicator not showing the correct gear but I don't think it's the speedohealer. I will probably bring it to dealer if it's still doin it when S.H. is disconnected. But, not till there's snow on the ground!!!

I just installed my speedohealer tonite. The gear indicator was showing correct gear. My speedo read 100 mph while the gps read 92.2. That's 8.5% off. I corrected it and the speedo is perfect with the gps. Got real fast delivery from cal's sport bikes. Ordered it at 3 pm last Friday and got it today. Installed it tonite.......................perfect!

MY gear indicator has worked perfectly before and after the SpeedoHealer.

+1 about the fast shipping for Cal Sportbike. I have ordered a couple of other items from those guys and shipping has always been very fast.

Mine is definitely Not! Not really an issue until it's no longer riding season.

When in 6 reads 5 wont go into 6(the indicator not the gear) unless I clutch it . Same thing happens in 5 to 4 & 4 to 3. This started when I did the 1st few dyno passes. Haven't delved into it. But I will got my manual today too.

No gear indicator problems here, before or after. It's a little "sluggish" to change gear indication on occasion, but I'm sure the computer's got better things to do *real time* than to tell me that I just did something that I know I just did (aka change gears).

+1 on their shipping here too. I ordered mine last Thursday and asked them to ship overnight to me using my UPS account. It arrived on Friday as expected, which means that they didn't sit on the order at all.

Mine has been up to a minute, guesstimated, slow.
Unacceptable really.
Prob better off without unless Kawi sends a software/whatever update, fix.

Sounds like a warranty issue...

What's the speedo error with a 14 tooth front sprocket?? I can assume the odo/computer will be off the same amount.

I would think the chain will make short work of the slider then swingarm if you went to 14 teeth!

Thats crazy, why do that?
Go up in the rear sproket 8 teeth instead,

why you would though? I dunno!

Huh?? It's much easier to change a front sprocket than a rear. Price is 1/2. Also moves the rear wheel back, but since it's already going to be 8" further back it's not really an issue.

Maybe you meant to say 16 tooth?

Yea, probably did. What I should have said is, "what's the speedo error if you go ONE TOOTH SMALLER on the front sprocket?"
