Ditto on 10%
Mine looks spot on at 10% correction at 70mph. I haven't checked at bigger numbers.
Speedo Healer told me, or I read that my ODO/speedo interface/ratio, unless I've completely lost it, can also be adjusted.
Anybody know how?

The odo/speedo is already good. If your good at 10% leave it & you be done.

don'y forget tiremake, size, pressure, load or tire wear... anything that effects tire circumference will create slight differences... may be why 3 % difference?

Hey, Hey stop that! Don't be goin' crazy there dubbie. That's too much for me to process.LOL
I had 36psi & 500 mi. on the tire. You do have a valid point. But, more wear would equate to more correction increasing the % not decreasing..

Crazy?
Oh yaeh i forgot.....CRAZIER, faster, smarter, stronger, tougher, bigger, meaner, uglier, prettier, and smellier than thou !

Hmmm, I doubt yours was as bald as FBA's...
Well in any case I would lean towards the dyno being more accurate..

Yea, I will tell ya if you set @ 10% you'll be alot closer to your real speed than where you are stock. Let me know how it works out when you get it or do you already got it?

Let me make sure I understand this speed-o-healer thing completey. It does the following, correct?

1. Corrects the speed-o reading to be more accurate
2. Removes the top speed limiter of the bike
3. Installes easily with no splicing if you use the proper Kawi harness
4. Correcting your speed-o will also lower the actual miles accumulated on your bike over time because the trip meter doesn't think you are traveling farther than you really are.

Are those statements correct? Did I miss anything major?

If all are true, it seems like the money saved on reduced ODO miles alone would pay for this little thingy over time...

I think theODO ratio can also be adjusted, in case your wanting the computer to be accurate, etc.
I'm calling them today. Wll post.
If I can install [ correctly ] it in 5 minutes, you know it's plug and go...

My speed-o healer is on the way. I listed zx-14.com as my "reference" on the order, maybe if enough of us list this as our source, they will give fish a call and ask about site sponsorship...

That should do it.
They will send you the Kaw 1 installation kit. They knew right away when I said ZX14.

FYI
Just got talked to Todd at Cal Sportbikes, SH distributor.
Corrects only 1 readout, either ODO or speedo, not both.
So I will miss my ODO, mileage, fuel, etc calcs, but I will know how fast accurately , and I'm unrestricted.
I'm happy

How could it only correct one if it's altering the speed signal coming from the output shaft? Is there another speed signal being fed into the computer from another location? That doesn't make any sense...

A quote from their website:

quote:
- Accurate speedometer and/or odometer no matter what you change on your vehicle
- Your odometer won't show more miles/kms than you ride (RESALE VALUE!)

What gives??

The unit only transmits 1 signal per Todd w/Cal Sportbike, so ODO/speedo are changed the same amount.
The speedo is off 10% stock.
The ODO is close stock. So my speedo is accurate now but ODO and computer are off 10%. Right?

No,
all should be accurate
How can the speedo be accurate but the odo not?!

You are changing 1 signal.
That 1 signal is driven off the countershaft sprocket.
It measures the revolutions (more or less) and the rotations per minute.
It computes fuel volume consumed vs speed and gives a mpg.
The speedo and odo , and all other mileage realated aspects will be changed by the same percentage you adjust the speedohealer at.

Precisely WHO says that the speedo is incorrect, but the ODO is correct? I know it's not Cal-Sportbikes.com because they haven't even seen a '14 yet.

That really doesn't make any sense. Both the speedo signal AND the odo signal are driven by the output shaft sensor via the computer. Why would Kawi program the computer to make the speedo read high, but make the ODO accurate? There's no logic in that.

I say mine is off 10% stock.
I also say My friends is off 10%

I say My ODO was very close stock.
If that's too broad a brush stroke, check you own maybe?

Dubious,
Because my ODO was accurate stock and my speedo not accurate stock.
Todd explained the unit cannot correct 2 different [ calibrations] issues with 1 signal.
It follows to me then that the unit also cannot correct 1 and leave 1 alone. Consistent?

Ok, I can buy that.

This is a good thing, right? Let's say the speedo was optimistic by 10% stock, and the speedo healer fixes that. Perfect. Now if we say the ODO is accurate stock, then the speedo healer will reduce it by 10% while correcting our speedo.

Sounds like a win-win situation to me. Other than the fact that fuel mileage calculations will now be off by 10% as well. Fine by me...

Usually odo's are quite accurate +-3% but speedos are usually more optimistic +5-+510% Thaths because speedos aren't allowed to show less than the "real" speed but they can be up to 20% optimistic (according the law). But odos can be made so that they averige 0% correction but are sometimes pessimistic and sometimes optimistic...

Hmmm.....I think somebody with a speedo healer needs to set it to read like 50% too low, then ride down the street and see if the distance traveled on the odo matches your real distance. Here in the US, a lot of highways have markers that have the distance on them, sure like to know if this thing could lower the odo reading.
Imagine the sale ad: "For sale, 2006 ZX14, like new, only 500 miles( a 1/4 mile at a time)"

Installation was very straightforward and easy. I put the unit under the left ram-air cover. After installed, everything tucks away nicely. The only place someone could see any wires at all is at the sensor connection. Even then, someone would have to be looking very, very hard.
TJ - Any reason that you didn't install it under the seat? I'm thinking about installing there so that the memory recall button would be easier to get to. Just curious... Mine's here and I'm going to install this weekend.

FWIW, I tried to order the healer with extended cord/button, but they were out of stock yesterday.

I wanted to install the top speed recall button near the dash. I figured once the calibration was set, there would be no need to adjust.
