Lookee what my 14 can do?

[img]http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i81/Himile14/MVC-043F.jpg[[/img]

Well hopefully as you can see my bike finally has a center stand. Man what a day. I feel pretty good because I had a chance to tell the guys I bought my bike from how I really feel.
Here how it all happened. This Morning I got a call saying that the center stand was in, "You can come pick up your box" I think were his exact words. I thought, "BOX what the hell would I want with a box". When I got to the dealer I ask the salesman when will he be able to have the center stand installed. Again a deer in headlights look I get from him. OK Now I'm getting pissed. He says no the deal was I was going to hand you the box. At first I think he is joking but he's not. So I said "No really when can you get this on?" Noting the anger in my voice he goes to talk the GM. To the back of the shop we go and he quotes me 240 dollars. I look at the paperwork thinking I could do this in maybe 2-3 hours and that is the same amount of time they want to charge me. WTF I had to get my daughter so off I went and when I got back I grab my salesman and the GM and let them have it. First off I says if you bought a car from me and you bought Mud flaps and Wheelocks would you expect it in a box or installed? You know exactly what I meant when I bought the center stand and it did not include a box. Next I paid $204 over MSRP why would I do that? BECAUSE THE CENTERSTAND WAS TO BE INCLUDED. Then the GM explains that was freight and assembly. Looking at the paperwork I say to him stop BS-ing me if those charges were there it should say it on my paper work you know GOOD BUSINESS. Then the salesman chimes in and saying that he does not understand why they would not do the shop work. I look at him and said for crying out loud your the biggest problem here, you know dam good and well I wanted that GD center stand included but I did not get a BO so shame on me. I wanted the bike so I paid 300 dollars more to get what I wanted. Now you want 240 dollars more for the installation that's BS. Now your 500 dollars over the other dealer aaaaggghh. So I proceed to show the GM the shoddy work his PDI dept is doing i.e. stop lamp sensor on the front brake and the brake fluid 1/2 full. I say so the engineers say that you're within the limits Fu_k all your customers if the brakes have a little air in them? By the way this GM knew very little about motorcycles, love working with these guys.
OK now that I've vented it really only took about 2 hours to install the center stand. I weighed the Mufflers and they were 14 lbs each. Everything went together pretty easy. I bought the handle but I would not advise buying one unless you like the look, the 14 hops right on top of the center stand without a fuss. I also changed the oil over to synthetic right after. I don't know how you all change the oil without a center stand, and check the oil fill, man life just got easier.

Nice Rob...and your dealer sounds like a real dick...too bad for you. Find someone else tyo service the bike and call the Kawi DM to complain.

Oil change with no center stand -- rear stand works fine too...I like the center stand but won't it slow you down at the strip?

FBA I forgot to mention that the box the center stand came in was 17 lbs. Note the loss of the rear fairing.

I don't see the rear fairing removed...am I missing something? Why would the box weigh 17 lbs? You talking about the packaging box?

Where are the grab handles that mount in the back of the rear foot peg mount. I thought they were part of the center kit ?

Here is the grab handle, I could not get the 8mm hex to get the bolt out until this afternoon. Note this handle is not included with the center stand, it's a 96 dollar extra. Keep in mind I'm a little guy (154 lbs. and 5 foot 4 inch tall) and I don't really feel it's needed.

It's pretty easy just to roll back the bike a few inches, stand ALL your weight on the foot pedal, and if you coordinated the sequence, you won't need the knurled handle. It happens so fast, you need to hold the front brake so it doesn't move forward off the stand again.

I know your height/weight might benefit trying it this way. Give it a shot Rob.

Speedgene your correct all the weight on the foot and the bike just rolls up onto the stand. The handle was not see prior to buying, the dealer suggested I buy it. I agree it's not really needed.
Crotchrocket. I plan on touring with my ZX , so 1000 miles from home I want to be able to lube the chain at will. If not for that, the pit bull would be perfered.
