ZX-14 risers

Just got my zx-14 over to Helibars today to do the measurements and design of the risers. It seems that the local dealers were selling the bike too quickly to allow them to have access to a machine for a week. I will let you know when the production risers become available.

Good deal keep us updated!.......... and if some don't like it ....
I think there will be quite a few of us lookin for relief.
Its a lomg reach for guys under 5-10, and the angle sucks.

Hopefully they will be almost flat like a drag bar!

Yes. Harry at Helibars mentioned the very same thing about the down angle of the grips. He talked about making them a bit more level while picking up a little and also placing them a bit closer. I'm sure this will all come down to how much room is available between the tank and windshield.

Few guys around here wear leathers---you have to go 100 miles to find a curve. This is true redneck country (my fine self included) and you will see such things as turbo Busa's being ridden by a guy in shorts. Course, if he really wants to look cool, he takes a file and roughs up his knees.

Guess if I showed up at the local Starbucks on my bike they'd never let me in. Old women would faint and little children would scream and run away when they saw my 7 year old Aerostich that looks like every bird in the county went and had a shit party on it!

Got the call today. I can pick up my Black 14 since the risers are now available. It lifts the grips up by 20mm and puts them 10mm closer to the rider. Harry at Heli (Helibars.com) mentioned that stock was quite good and that the reach was just a bit long. He adjust the most he could without the grip making contact with the fairing.

On their website already:

2006 Kawasaki ZX14 Tour Performance Handlebar Risers

Tour Performance Bar Relocator Riser Block

20 mm (3/4") taller
10mm (3/8) rear offset

Part # HC2614
CNC Machined from solid Billet Aluminum
Black anodized finish
Hardware is supplied
5 minutes installation

The cut-outs in the forward sides of the fuel tank / air filter cover and the "wind cheating" fairing left little room for a taller and more offset Heli Bar, so we did the next best thing. We raised the factory bars with our Tour Performance handlebar riser.

I should be able to pick the bike up tomorrow or Wednesday (weather permitting). I'll let you know what I think. I was told that these were not going to be very expensive either. Should be under 100 bucks.

Judging by what they said, they didn't have quite enough room for the stock angle at 3/4" rise, so they went up 3/4 and had to go back 3/8" to clear the fairings -- I think...that will probably work better for most anyways...as it's a long reach to the bars.
