Speed Correction

Has anyone purchased a speed corrector yet---like the yellow box?? On first glance, I do not think the yellow box will work but do not know.

Schnitz Racing are showing a Yellow Box on their ZX-14 page. Call them on 800.837.9730 and ask. Please let us know what you find out.

I had mine just get shipped but I don't have a service manual yet to dig through the harnesses to find the speed sensor input line to the ECU. I figure once I get the PC3, Halmeter O2, exhaust, and lowering links, it will be time to rip the bike completely apart to install everything, since both the Halmeter and the yellow box both need power. I may just add an easily accessible switchable mini-fuse box off the battery for future connections as well, if I can find the room.

If you correct your speed, you'll just ride faster and get into more trouble.

I believe there's a connector you can get at which carries the signal from the pick-up on the final drive sprocket. Don't know if the Yellow box can process this ?

Buy a cheap bicycle digital speedometer
they are adjustable - just glue the magnet close to the wheel hub
and think if you need one for both tires
depends on how much you do wheelies - and want to know on what speed
OR
if you like to burn rubber instead and want to know the speed, on which
the ZX-14 still can do it on different surfaces and weather conditions
:-D

It's located on the sprocket cover, the yellow wire is the output from the sensor or blue wire after the plug, installed mine a few days ago, works great.

Very cool! Did you just tap the battery directly or did you tap a harness close by without killing the ECU bus?

It taps into the 3 wires coming from the sensor, red or pink is +, black neg. and yellow is the signal wire which has to be cut in half to pass the signal through the yellow box, i paid $99 for the box.
