There's a blackhole in my new 14!!!
Just picked up my new red 14 on thurs and what the hell is up with the black hole in the low end of the power? Hell my '96 cbr 900RR had more beans down low. It's like plain chips, just got no zing, kinda dissapointed. Somebody please tell me there's something I can do about this. I am going to install my full Muzzy system tonight, and drop the countershaft sprocket to a 16, hopefully this will help.

This is only from what I've read, but it seems kawi has done this on purpose. A TRE might help, but I don't think they are available yet.... Should be shortly.
Post pics of that exhaust when you put it on.

Yup it feels like a black hole from 3000 to 5000 but trust me on this one ...It only feels like a black hole , I have done about 16 roll ons with with modded Gixxers and zx10s at that RPM and pull them before i ever get to the sweet spot of 6000 ... I was thinking i would get jumped and have to pull it back and that's not what happens .... I to have ordered a Muzzy pipe and a 16 tooth and that should give me a bigger lead over the other bikes.. The zx14 is so smooth and heavy it just doesn't feel fast from that RPM ...But it is !!!!!! I raced one Gixxer making 165 hp from 40 mph in second gear and on the hit i jumped him allmost 3 bikes...and that Gixxer had a gear , 16 on the front is what he told me ..

Yes changing the front spocket ( down one tooth ) you will
notice the difference and with a Pipe,K&N filter,Power Commander III,
and the proper maping installed I highly doubt you will be complaining.
Oh and with the right rider and a quick double clutch your 96 RR
would be hard pressed to even read the first letter on the license plate
lol. I just got my plates and title today and I am dying to cut the fender
but next week M1 told me it would be available.

LOL...SCIFI...I got the facts from here...'nuther thread....then I called DynoJet today to find out, spent a few minutes on the phone...and that's what they confirmed to me as well...I also want to see what can be done to enhance bottom end but like most people here, don't wanna go nuts spending cash in the wrong area to find out that there is a better way, and waiting it out means someone else will do that for me 1st. Built a lot of bikes and wasted a lot of money before, like to think I've learned from my mistakes, I hope anyway!..
