Alarm?

Never had a need for an alarm, but I am temoporarily moving into an appt without a garage(looking for a house). The parking is only 10ft away from my patio door, so I assume if an alarm goes off I have enough time to run outside and try and stop someone from steeling it. I will work on getting liabitiy with theft, but when I was looking a year or two back the cost was insance(something like 1/2 the cost of my 10r a year).
So what's a good alarm to go with?
Thanks
Chris

Just got liability with theft.. not too bad $63.50 a month(insured for 11,500 if stolen)... Full coverage was $120. I turn 25 in a few months, and was told it will drop considerably... Will consider full coverage then.
Still would like an alarm b/c dealing with insurance companies can be a pain in the a$$
Thanks!

We have a product that will soon be released called Phantom X, which is a transponder based 2-way system...totally hands free too. Up to 800' of paging range, buit in starter kill, flashing light outputs, accelerometer based tilt sensor,135db siren, built in battery backup and draws only 250 microamps...lowest power consumption in the world...all in a single module that fits in the rear section of your 14 and is invisible...will have more news in 2 weeks...but it'll be worth the wait...blows away Viper, Scorpio etc...no remote buttons to press either.

When u say we.. who is we? Just would like to know where to purchase this when it becomes available. Also, is it going to come with a wiring kit so I won't have to splice wires etc?

You will have to splice, but it's going to be painless and easy, since I own a 14
"we" is my company: http://www.autoland.ca
I'm installing one in my ZX14 in about a week, so I'll post pics and let you know how exactly and where to install...I already have them on the R1 and the 10R.

The 14 comes optional with an OEM "Immobilizer" type system. More black boxes, more wire harnesses, more parts to fail and go wrong in general.
There is a fairly large troubleshooting section for the immobilizer in the factory shop manual.
Might want to try one of the Euro parts sections on their Kaw websites to chase the part numbers, and find out how much the assembly unit would cost?
