The simple way to rate these bikes is purely on Norwich Union insurance ratings

If it ain't group 17 its not worth having!!

And how can anyone say a blackbird is more comfortable than a 12r??

BMW owns the Euro rags, just like Suzuki owns the US publications....

I love my 14. It's a fabulous bike. I also own a K1200S. Take a long ride on one. You'll be amazed at what the bike does. Great suspension & brakes, dead stable, VERY torquey motor (absolutely better than the 14 under 5k rpm, and extremely comfy.

Top speed? The 14.
1/4 mile? The 14.
Max power? The 14.
All around bike? The K12S.

BUT, the 14 is a keeper.

......and when have you ever read anything in a newspaper that's correct ? MCN blow hot & cold like any other journo' driven organ. By the reasoning given above ( comfortable & user-friendly ) they should have rated an easy-to-ride, cheap 600 above the Yamaha YZF600R in their recent group test. Did they ? Did they heck as like. Another day, another story, another angle, another weeks editions all sold.

Nah, it's grown on me. Especially after tweaking the suspension a bit.
