THE 14 IS KING.
ALL BOW TO THE NEW LEADER !
SORRY BUT BUSA HAS BECOME THE QUEEN !
went out for good ride today and really getting comfortable with the bike.
Starting to really find its traits, and trust the machine.
Took our bikes out to a deserted empty road that had fresh pavement last year , no traffic, and straight sections up to 2 miles long.
Bounced the speedo off 300 km/h 3 times today.
All I can say is wicked. What an awesome machine.
Cross winds kinda unnerve the bike some times especially if its gusting.
Otherwise it was rock solid when no wind. ROCK SOLID!
Top end accelleration is unreal.
at 160 km/hr (100 mph) drop it to fourth shift out at 200 km into 5th, and into 6th at 240-250 km/h and it keeps pullin like it does in 4th. Around 290 it begins to peter out due to the imposed restriction. I have no doubt it would pull 320 km/h if derestricted
Raced a couple of busa's and 05' GSXR 1000 today.......
Left the line 1/2 bike length behind the busa and quickly reeled him in by 2nd gear,
after that he watched my tailight pull away.
2nd race I bogged off the line and he gained 3-4 bike lengths.
At the end of the 1/2 mile I was 1/2 bike length ahead of him.
Second busa guy couldn't ride, I toasted him like a baked bird.
Poor SOB should a bought a sv1000 or somethin to bring his skills up, cause the busa intimidates him I think.
3rd race was against G1k and he got the jump out of the hole but was clutching lots to keep the frt end down.
By 3 rd gear I was 4 bike lengths ahead and still pulling away.
2nd race with G1k was similar story.
I was doin some clutching to keep the front end down in 1st , and just let it power wheelie with the frt tire at most 10" off ground in second. - so i was told.
What an awesome machine.
Its crazy really, I mean it pulls 1st 2nd 3rd like as quick as you can shift em, from 50 km/h to 200 under 5 seconds.
It must be pullin zero to 100 mph times in about 6 seconds from standing start.
My suspension has really started to loosen up a bit.
Can really feel it moving around now, and rear has began to squat as i can feel more trail from the front end when initiating a turn.
Must be broken in and time to tune.
Adjusted throttle cables, chain and now time for suspension.
I'm wondering if an extended wheelbase or straps would be most effective?
more bottom grunt and strapped suspension would help 60 ft times lots.
I'm on the clutch keepin it above 6000 rpm until fully engauged, and around 8000 rpm have to slip it again to get the frt end down.
Would rather it had the grunt down low so i could engage cltuch around 4-5000 and let it pull the rest.
Gotta mention how stable it is again.
With wind a little unnerving .... No wind Rock solid.
I'll mention too, that I crossed some deeply rutted pavement at speed in second today (making lane change under full power!) frt tire skimming and she had a slight wobble, better than I expect most bikes would handle the same, and corrected itself instantly.
Very confidance inspiring as far as straight line stability , and corners damn well too for machine with this torque and weight
Cheers boys.
I'm 7-0 .......... zx14 vs the world
Better cool my jets or I'll lose my license.

i dont know where the 189 comes from unrestricted. Hell i redline in 5th tonight at 180. I know this bike should be able to do more than 189 unless it has a major speedometer error. I saw 195 a few times on this site. I dont know what to believe. The mcn comes off as crap to me. The 14 out performs all those other bikes by a large margin. They most have used rookie riders on the 1/4 times. In the press intro guys were in the nines and they werent pro riders. So can someone tell me which is right 195 or 189.

All bikes since 2001 were speed limited to 186 mph. So unless its been unrestriced somehow any bike made after 2001 wont exceed 186mph despite what the speedometer says...
