quote: Just got back in. i did a few wheelies and lit the tire up to. i was riding with my buddy who has a zrx with the muzzy big bore kit in it. He said in all the years of riding he hasnt seen anyone crash doing a wheelie either.i told him about the forum and the guy rj or something that saw a bunch of people die from wheelies and he agreed that the forum has quite a few liars or squids that have no clue how to ride. dont get me wrong you can crash from doing wheelies but i have never witnessed it, and the guys i ride with do them everyday. for the people who have 14s on here and are afraid to ride fast or do wheelies i suggest a track day at your local road race track to learn how to ride befor you open up a14. i would also spend some time on a motorcross bike to learn how to loft the front wheel. a ex 500 would be a great learner bike for you. i know there are some riders on here that actually ride hard,id say next year when the next fad comes along the rest will be on that forum. DRIVE SAFE
You talk way too much shit son.
And you know the sad reality? You ARE going to go down. Not if but when.
The difference between you and most of the people in this thread is we HAVE gone down.
I've felt the pain. Broken collarbone, 4 broken ribs, punctured lung. Not fun.
But you're young and cocky and mother nature or fate has an appointment with you.
You can go one of two ways here:
1) You can continue to think that the majority of the people in this thread (and website) are stupid mother fuckers.
2) You can realize that if you shut your mouth and listen you might learn something trhat will keep your ass alive.
Your choice.

Yup, been down 3 times myself, never on a sports bike though, all 3 on cruisers, and two of the 3 due to folks pulling out in front of me, who then did a panic stop. Nowhere to go but into the car in a slide.... Wheelies are great, as long as they are done outside of the main drags away from all the cages. I personally prefer a bike that grabs and launches forward, not up. That is how I had set up my prior 12R, lowered, stiffened suspension, etc, and the bike would either spin the tires or just jump forward and scream. It would wheelie between shifts, but come right down.

One of the first thing taught in racing or high performance driving/riding is, if your wheeles are spinning (making noise) you are giving up performance. Now as this is true, you still need to know what to do should it happen. I have been riding street bikes since my H1, and progressed to a "Big Bike" with my 83 Gpz 1100. Back then I'd occasion a few intentional wheelies "just to see". But dynamics and HP weren't what they are today. I have no doubt when my 14 fnally fuckin arrives I will occasion a few power induced wheelies, but and I say BUT!!!!! One less patch of tire on the road isn't something that want too often. Not good.

just rode about 70 miles today and did about 10 wheelies, a couple of them into third gear, and i still havent seen anyone crash a street bike from doing a wheelie. probably the most dangerous riding is going fast thru back roads. i do alot of that too. it seems like the guys on the huyabusa and gsxr forums have alot more knowlege than you guys do. Blitzkrieg sorry you went down but ill bet it wasnt from a wheelie . ride safe

No you're not, you are attempting to be a smug little prick. It is WE as owners of these bikes who determine how we will have fun on them. If a guy want's to race his/hers, ride it like a moped, let it sit in the garage collecting dust or display in his entry hall as a pretty ornament, that is his/her business; they PAID for it! If they get enjoyment out their new 14, that's all right by me in ANY form. This forum, as I understand it, is for people to share experiences, offer information and discuss our improvements to our newest toy, the ZX-14/ZZR1400. This forum has been a nice place to visit and learn from the combined knowledge of a bunch of very nice people.

Look guys to each his own, if he gets off doing wheelies it's none of our business. We all have different levels of excitement requirements, maybe he needs to do that.
Pointing out that it makes all sport bike riders look bad is totally irrelevant, what are we, our brothers keepers?
What if this forum was for base jumpers?
Get a grip, what do all of us look like to the average person who has never road a bike that can do 180 mph or any bike for that matter, fucking crazy.

I don't agree with you totally on that Blueford.
I've been pulled over by cops that had a real chip on their shoulder about sportbikes.
Yeah, I might have been speeding, but I was NOT being reckless or doing it around other people or endangering anybody, or doing it in a school zone or residential area or blah, blah, blah.
A good friend of mine said to me like ten years ago when the "stunter" shit started to become popular that this will be the end of our sport and we'll all be driving Harleys eventually because it will be the only way to keep your license. No threat, no ticket.
Think about that for a while. Its prophecy for sure.

You and I know you weren't being reckless, but others that don't ride? Harley riders think sport bikers are reckless going over 70mph
OK but we ride ultra high performance motorcycles, it is a inherently risky activity, where do we draw the line that shouldn't be crossed?
How about going over 100mph? We all do routinely and in some states it's a felony, so my point is, we're all kind of outlaws, we have to be because we love our sport and there is no way to enjoy it driving like an old lady.

I got off those forums only because a lot of them (not all but most) are narrow minded, stupid, arrogant brainless fucks like you and Dorito-fuck...so, you and all of them can laugh all you want...it's not gonna make a damn difference to me one way or the other.
There are 3 kinds of riders in life:
1) Those who've been down
2) Those who are goin' down
3) Narrow minded, stupid, arrogant brainless fucks like you and Dorito-fuck, who are GOIN DOWN!
Which one are you? Ya never been down so yer either 2 or 3...3 is my guess...
Remember that toughguy...when yer bleedin' like a stuck pig, messed up and wishin' you were dead...not that I wish that on you or anyone else...but your time will come, but till then, go TROLL somewhere else
Better watch out or I'll start a poll on you and Dorito-fuck...

Hey Guys & Gals,
Just remember were all into the samething. We love our sport !!!! Let's not go to war with each other over it. Plenty of road out there for all of us. I've got over 150,000 miles of riding under my belt . Never been down, hopefully I never do. Had many of cagers pull out in front of me over the years. Caught oil spills in corners even rounded the corner in Deals Gap last fall and had a 18 wheeler streched across the road. Scrapping foot pegs there is awesome !!! Point is anyone who looks for trouble usually finds it. Let's just all live together under the same sky and be thankful we have our sport to enjoy. I envey all of you that already have your 14's ours should be here soon. Then it's our turn to power stripe the lane.
Hopeing our Blue 14's arrive soon ! And looking forward to meeting some of you's out there on the road. Have FUN !!!!!!!
2 to Go (soon)

oh no. Look you should stop getting so upset. if you have no skill and you do wheelies and slide your bike on the street then youre definatly going to crash. Just because you have no idea how to ride a high horsepower bike dosent mean that everyone else is going down. As i have stated, many of us have been doing this for over 20 years, so keep your idiotic statements to yourself WITH NO CRASHES. seriously dude you could have just as much fun on a moped, and probably learn to ride better . safe riding busa.

Almost any magazine article will have at least one shot of an irresponsible editor riding a wheelie on the 14. Although, I would also love to see video of Tony hoisting the front wheel of a ZX14.
