Opinions on zx-12r to zx-14 switch

Ok fellas I have a 2000 zx-12r (candy green or course... its the faster color) and I do love my bike. But I have had a sudden hankerin for a change. Let me back up a little before I get into comparing and tell you little about some of the things I have done to my 12r.
1. Penske 8987 shock
2. Traxxion Dynamics valve front end ( Rebound/Compression Valves, Springs)
3. Goodridge brake Lines \perfomance friction pads (damn things bite man!)
4. Power Commander III
5. Full Akrapovic Exhaust
6. Dunlop Qualifier Tires
Ok thats what is done so far , and of all the modifications the suspension changes made the bike feel like it was something totally different. Had the bike on a dyno and it was putting 171 HP to the ground and a little over 93 ft lb of torque. Now here is my delima. I have a set of 1290 JE pistons sitting in my garage and a few other bits I was thinking about adding ( clutch basket, adj cam sproket, etc) and I was wondering if you guys thought the zx-14 with minor mods say exhaust and power commander III and suspsension setup would be worth the price premium or would it be beneficial to go ahead and run the big bore on the zx12r. I ride over 20,000 plus miles a year. Love the twisties. Hell i even try the occasional track day. Based on what you owners have experinced so far , and I am sure a few of you came from 12r 's or owned one in the past, do you think its worth the change, what things would be better or worse. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks folks!

The 14 is NOT the same as the 12R, no matter which way you slice it....read the comments on the site to see what the major differences really are, power is only ONE of those things, then go demo one and see...had a 12R, had a Busa...now I have something that's leaps and bounds above both of those two...I also ride over 20K miles a year and live in the twisties...this bike makes the other look like toys IMO. Some will argue with me; those that have 12R's now and no 14's Ask somone here who came from a 12R to a 14...see what they say.

As you know the old Dunlop 208's suffererd from a few problems, slow to warm up and when they did tended to get that greasy feeling all too soon when the pace picked up. These new Qualifiers are a completely different story. The rear hooks very well and feels like it gives much more grip when heeled over on its side. The front feels like it turns in much faster than the 208's and give great feel. Run em as hard as you want and all they say is daddy I some more please! lol IMHO they feel as good if not better that the pilot powers I was running before. The problem I had with the Pilot powers was treadlife. I would chew those things up like no bodies business. You could tell in a very short time by the amount of abrasion on the tire that they wouldnt last long. The fact is though the pilot powers stick , so the Qualifiers came as a bit of a revelation because they stick but do not seem to suffer the same amount of abrasion. Hope this is helpful.

Excellent info, I was leaning towards the Pilots but I thinks I'll try a set of the Qualifiers. Thanks
