Tail bag installed!

Got this tail bag from Chicane -- http://www.chicaneusa.com/summit.htm

Here's some quick shots of the bag installed...it's a perfect fit on each end and I used the original grab handle to tie it down in the front. It hold 13 litres, which is fine for day travel or overnighters, just not enough space for 1 week travels. Has an elastic bungee looped on the top for jackets or raingear etc...cost was $79.00+ shipping.

Sorry about the crappy shots....was done at night, the lines you see are the saftey pipings traversing the bag which glow under light...it's like this bag was made for this bike...down to the millimeter.

I hate bags, but given that this ride has no room for nada under it's seat (my 10R can hold the kitchen sink), I had to succumb to a bag for now...so this one fit like a glove. Guess I can get used to it -- for now. Was either that or a knapsack, yet another thing I hate...this was the lesser of 2 evil's. I could always fill it with lead and get bigger wheelies...

Looks good, but be warned where the bag hangs over the rear of the seat it's going to rub the paint. Get some 3M clear protective tape and mask the area 1-2" just behind the seat for use with that bag, otherwise you'll be looking at scratch remover and polish on a regular basis.

fba - When you have a chance, can you post a pic of how that bag attaches to the seat at the rear? Thanks!

I removed the Chase Harper Stealth bag that I had installed on the rear seat and replaced it with a Cortech super-mini tank bag. I really like it's looks, and it doesn't get in the way at all. I wanted something that I could use every-day for things like a spare shield, phoenix jacket liner, wallet, cell phone, bungee, etc. I like the fit of that Chicane tail bag though, that might just have to replace my Marsee tail bag for long weekend trips!

A cell phone? Well, I'd say you are doing pretty good then. Does it have a keyboard, or are you having to fight with it trying to outsmart you with every letter you type?
