I guess I have a taker, where are you located? like I said before I will carve the 13.5 up like a game hen and beat it to 186 like a red headed step child...

doubt all you want, eventually I will find one in the open and have my way with it. just like boy scouts have their way with mary jane rotten crotch, I will pull it all over the 206...

if you had any nuts you would meet me or nick or both somewhere this can be settled, but before you get on your mighty steed and conquer the modern world I suggest you read this book before hand...

If the 14's were a fast as this board thinks, I should be seeing all kinds of challenges on the liter bike and Busa fourms, but I don't.
Oh, so that's how it is now? This is on your "stock" K5 gixxer?

We've got a little chain yankin' going on here...

The simple fact that many 'Busa owners don't seem to understand is that many of us really don't care if your 'Busa, 1000cc sport bike might be faster. If your whole life is centered on having the fastest bike, than I feel sorry for you.............you live a very limited existance.

No the fact is, a lot of 14 and Busa riders care a whole lot. What I see is, the 14 guys think the new 14 is the fastest thing stock out there, no doubt it's fast and will be faster, but don't think the other bikes are just road kill, they are the ones wanting to race not talk.

Pilgrim - quoting your last statement before telling me I can't read:

Maybe if you would learn how to properly quote somebody instead of lumping your comments in with someone else's, we might be able to "comprehend" what you are attempting to say... the way you quote, it looks like you are just repeating what someone else said.

I've already ran 2 hayabusas already with my stock zx14. First rider weighs 35 lb's lighter and the second rider is 10 lb's heavier and has slip on yoshs and 1 tooth down in the front.

The 14 is clearly more powerful end of story. Is it close? yes and no. Doing roll ons from second gear above 5k the 14 pulls out about a bike length until third and gets about a bike length further every gear change. The further you go the more distance the 14 gets. Racing them in the hole below 5k in second and the busas pulls slighly until about 6500 rpm and the zx14 reels them back in and starts to pull.

Oh no!
Hayabusa has more low end torque than ZX-14 ??
My only hope is Obi-van-GTR-1400
OR
2007 SuperBusa - unless it also has bad low-end torque

The high-end horsepower of 14,12,Busa, liter superbikes
has always been more than I can handle

I would like to see both parties response to what happened. I always thought a roll on, was to take off in a gear high enough not to wheelie. If you just both take off in the same gear, that doesn't mean you are at the same ratio.

When I'm doing roll-ons, my intentions are generally to re-produce what the magazine's document as their "60-80 Top Gear Acceleration" tests. I think it levels the playing field a little because most bikes are similarly calibrated for fuel mileage at 60mph in top gear, so they won't be in their "power band". It's a decent demonstration of what you might have to do if you are crusing around town on the highways and decide to squeeze it a little to get out of the way of a cage moving into your lane or something like that.

No, it's not a proof of who's bike accelerates faster, just a test of what could happen in every day real-world driving. It really doesn't prove anything, but then again, there is really no fair comparison when running two totally different bikes with different weights and different levels of modifications including gearing. Magazine's do it, and I'm not sure why, but it's documented, so it's fun and easy to re-produce in the real world, so why not play around once-in-a-while when just tooling around town on the highways?

Sure, it's easy to throw a bunch of mods at a bike to make it accelerate faster in any gear, but when you also want to use that same bike for long distance touring, those mods suddently don't look quite so appealing. Heck, I remember just the other day hearing someone compain that they had absolutely no way to fit a change of clothes on their sportbike so they could make a weekend trip. They were even willing to go as far as shipping clothes to their hotel, then shipping them back home when the weekend was over. I guess strapping on a spare set of undies, socks, and a t-shirt was too much to ask of a highly modified liter bike... might cause a handling problem, huh? Different strokes for different folks I guess.

What it comes down to, in my opinion is this: A race is a race. Forget the same gear, 1 2 3 Go crap.
The race that nick slick is talking about, is on a 5 mile stretch of road. Take off from a standing start and the first bike to the designated finish is the winner. The gap at the end of it determines just how bad the loser, ie' Busa, got spanked.

Nick, I don't want to show up, and all of a sudden the rules have changed. So, let me ask you. I know this is a "heads up" stock vs. stock for the bikes. That's out of the way. Let's get back to riders. If you bring a ringer kid soaking wet @ 130 lbs., and me here at 250 plus, is this fine with you? Next, I stay here in the USA. Now, pick a road so I can shake it down first. Or, can I pick the road? How about you get your rider to shake down the 111 going out of Indio toward Niland... (better view watching for the gumball). There's 19 washouts on that stretch. We can "case" at least one of those whoops I know of? I know that road pretty well. You should have a camera spotted there too.

Maybe I'm getting old, but I'd like to return in one piece traveling for just a few seconds "in front of" your camera. Can you understand where I'm coming from?

I am just going by the dyno numbers and rickys ETs....

165 hp

9.57 ET

dont look like no world beater to me and thats with a professional rider, wonder what barry henson could pull on a strapped busa? or mike slowe?

seems to me you guys would be drawing straws to see who gets to take a shot at the busa first?

every picture tells a story I guess....

Busa folks came over here that tells ya something in itself.. anyone knows Kawasaki tested against a Busa before releasing just as they tested the first ZX-10R against the 2003 GSXR back in 2004. Variables and factors in play can always make a difference but won't change the way things are ... when the 2007 Busa comes around then they should show up if ever ..not now...pity the foolishness....ZX-14 has nothing to prove.. a new sherif is in town hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah... hehe.. the bad guys just hate a new sheriff....LOL

Actually, the Busa is the reigning champ with nothing to prove. It's the contender that has something to prove if it wants top billing. You want the belt? Then you gotta KO the champ.

So, I guess that this means that either:

a- You don't live within 250 miles of San Diego.

b- You don't own a ZX-14.

c- Don't have the time.

or,

d- You're not sure you'd win and can't stand the let-down if you didn't.

Which is it?

If a, b, or c don't apply to you, then why the smacktalk? Some of us Busa riders have stated that our money is on the 14. At least, above 6000rpm. Get one of your buddies to do it so we can all see a well made and very interesting video. You guys could rub it in our faces then. Come on over to the Busa forums and let us have it. It'd be fun. But, ya' gotta have someone with the stones to show up first...

Far as I know, drag racing wont start much below 5K anyway...so power under that isn't relevant. It has been proven on a track already that the 14 is a faster ride, though it's not going to be seen in the Guiness book of world records anytime soon, which means SFA anyway...RG's numbers on the track don't count, only your's on the street? What a fucking joke you guys are...get a life and go back under the rock you crawled out from under...

Most Busa owners are:

A) Arrogant SOB's
B) Have no life
C) Live on the coatails of someone else's legendary races
D) Believe Busa's are the only bike on the planet
E) Numbnuts like you

Who invited you guys here anyway?? I know it wasn't me.

All right, time to euthanize this worthless thread - it's contributing nothing to the forum.

If ya'll have nothing positive to contribute, go back over to the Busa forum.

There will be zx-14's hitting the strips all over America in the next month or two, and we'll all know who is King instead of worthless internet dick wagging.

May the best bike win.
