Suspension finally set to my liking

My friend got the big ole 14's suspension dialed in. At first the bike floated way to much and didn't get enough feedback. Like playing a video game because I wasn't feeling it and was way to soft.. Anymore tighting I will have to have a fork upgrade. Doing the exhaust next. Just waiting on it.. I will have to have the suspension set again when I Loose all that bs of a exhaust system.

First take your bike for a 1/2 hour ride to get the suspension all warmed up!!!

Then you guys need to tighten the spring compression on the forks and rear shock before doing the compression and rebound...From the factory it's set for a 150lb. rider...Start at 1 full turn clockwise on each fork, then the rear shock...Go for a short ride to see if it made a difference...If not then 1 more turn clockwise and ride again...Dont make it too stiff, then you will have no feed back...The idea is to have the spring do 60% of the work, that way your forks and shock will last longer without rebiuld!!!

You also need to figure out is do you like a soft, medium or stiff ride action of the suspension???...Depending on the condition of the roads where you ride...Wheelies, Endos???

Roads here are shit for the most part. 10R was a bitch, damned near peed blood at the end of a ride. ZZR1200 or Triumph Sprint ST were much easier on the bum/balls.

Splading go to www.sportrider.com there is some good info there at one time.. I don't mess with the suspension anymore I got a professional to do the job its way less time consuming. He makes you sit on the bike and messures the sag with you and your riding gear and and then he makes sure the rebound forks and the rear shocks come up evenally when he pushes down on the tank. etc... The problem with stock fork internals is that if you ride real hard for long periods the internals heat up and quit working very well sort of like the reason you put braided lines on your bike and upgrade your brake pads and add wave rotors because hardcore riding on stock componets for long periods of time will make these items not work worth a shit...

Drowland - that's the probs I would always run into on my 12R when running the roads up to Windy Ridge (Mount Saint Helen's National Volcanic Monument Park). Forks would start pogo'ing as the fluid would overheat, and the rear shock would have all the strength of a overworked whoopie cushion. Forks were rebuilt professionally with .95/kg springs, and the stock shock was chucked for an Ohlins. Oh baby, what a difference. The final piece in that puzzle was Marchesini wheels. Whole different bike then.
