You know my original post said what I witnessed at the track, which was an R-1 out run the 14, that's all nothing bad. Then you say the 14 rider isn't any good, I was wondering how you know that from your living room? It 's real insulting to the 14 rider that was on the track running while your sitting at home in your living room running your mouth, you two dickheads are the ones taking it so personal, that someone would dare say anything about a 14. You call anybody that you or anybody else knows that owns a stock 14 and send them my way. You two hind tit suckers might ought to find out what I ride before you say anything, so obviously you don't know shit, I just got done riding with one of the 14 guys on this list, but he's not all full of shit like you. I'm still waiting. Look at one of the post by one of your 14 members ( you got to be kidding me). Also don't sell your ZX 12's, and let me know when the ZX 15's come out. Until then shut up stupid!!

I owned an R1 and currently a ZX12, the 12 was definately faster than the R1. I'm sure the 14 is faster than the 12. This is 1st hand experience with the same rider. When you compare two different riders on two different bikes you have too many different varibles. The R1 has entirely too tall of a gear for drag racing and is guttless under 9000 rpm's. It's torque spread is way too short, hp peaks and imediately drops off too fast, wheelbase too short, and center of gravity too high. If you want to pull anything off on a stock R1 you have to hurt the clutch which has happened to more than one R1 rider.

Well discusions are out of hand but my 2 cents is :

No way does one R1 and only one ZX-14 establish anything; everyone knows it's near impossible to lay down big power off the line with a totally stock street bike that happens to have big power like the new liter bikes or a ZX-14 ; just cause the lighter R1 may have gotten better times at half track in a given day does not negate in any way the potential of the ZX-14 which is clearly more powerful than a peaky R1...coming out with the "conclusions??? that an R1 is clearly the better drag bike is very biased and short sighted... the ZX-14 has far more potential than it can unfold in stock form plus has the torque the R1 will never come close to having...neither bike including my 04 ZX-10R can be fully realized in stock trim... again a few "initial" races in full stock status should not prove anything to anyone who knows motorcycles....

What were the 60' foot times ?? not even considered so far?

not a nice gesture coming to this forum and speading such an inmature or ignorant conclusion.

It is possible Pilgrim really does not know better... maybe he just does not like the ZX-14 for what it is...The ZX-14 has a few reviews and actual drag racing tests from profesionals like Ricky Gadson and Ryan Schnitz not very old found on this very forum that might enlighten him some.... maybe not unfortunately...who cares really...yeah an R1 is a nice serious bike but give us a break pilgrim....you have jumped to conclusions a little to quick.....your not as well informed as you think...

Read the following Pilgrim :

Does a given rider make a difference? can you see the ZX-14 1/8 AT 6.27 below ? yes that "official" track figure is from a totally stock ZX-14....

By Ricky himself. . .

During a top secret test in Phoenix Arizona, with whether conditions, a beautiful 80 degrees with an adjusted altitude of 1800 ft.........a 2006 Hayabusa and a 2006 Kawasaki ZX14 were run head to head, both with 800 miles on them, both with stock gearing, stock pipes, stock height, stock tires(same air pressure),stock settings on chassis, same gas out of same jug(pump), and same rider(me)
alternating between both bikes after 4 runs a piece.

After 4 runs on the Hayabusa, a baseline ET of 9.92@ 141.55 (STOCK HEIGHT)

4 runs on the ZX14 netted a baseline of 9.77 at 145.89

after 6 sets of 4 runs a piece ,the best numbers looked like this
Hayabusa ZX-14
1.66 1.66
4.31 4.34
6.34 6.27
114.44 mph 117.10 mph

9.901@142.00 9.755@146.20 STOCK HEIGHT!!!!!!!

Without being biased, if anyone ever gets a chance to ride the 2 bikes, one behind the other, you too will be amazed at how much of a difference you feel in acceleration.
The 06 Busa is still a respectable and capable motorcycle!

Salsa1, please read this again, I did not start a fight, I simply stated what I saw, the two jerk offs keep saying I said something other than the fact, they want to kill the messenger. I believe there is huge potential with the 14 personally, but not necessarily in stock trim. These two idiots keep saying they are gonna blow my 600 in the weeds, I got some bad news for them or anyone else wanting to run my street bike with a bone stock 14, it wouldn't be a fair race, and it's not an R1, but if these two want to loose their money, I will gladly take it. They are two little computer racers with their own little secret hand shake. Thanks for the info. it's good to know.
